Brenda Lynn Reichenberg, 68

| February 28, 2020 8:42 AM

Brenda Lynn Reichenberg — colorful soul, jack-of-all-trades and lover of Alaska — died unexpectedly on Feb. 5, 2020, at the age of 68 in Anchorage, Alaska.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Heather Rae Reichenberg; her sister, Julie Bauman; her brother, Todd Reichenberg; her nieces, Leslie Grubb and Chelsea Brouse; her nephew, Eric Haines; her grandchildren, Gillian Bremicker and Xoe Bremicker; and all of her grandnieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father, Emil Reichenberg; mother Leonora Maynard (Benz) and her sister, Denise Villa.

Brenda was born in Hazen, N.D., on Nov. 11, 1951, to Emil Reichenberg and Leonora Maynard (Benz), before the family moved to Idaho. Brenda graduated from Wallace High School in 1970 and was marked in her yearbook as Best All Around. She mastered a variety of jobs so much so anyone would want her aboard their mothership to Mars. Some of these jobs included managing clubs for Brian West during the pipeline (you know which ones), driving Zamboni, as well as selling life insurance. Yet the job she loved the most included 16 years with the Interior AIDS Association in Fairbanks where she touched so many lives and made a huge difference. Before her passing, Brenda was a bookkeeper at the Elks Club in Fairbanks.

Brenda loved her family immensely and shared her love for sports with her daughter, Heather. Brenda’s passions ran the gambit from downhill skiing, women’s softball, golfing, as well as barefoot waterskiing. Brenda was also an avid fisherwoman who attended the Women’s Fishing Derby every summer with her besties, Carrie and Bryan Littlejohn. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all who knew her.

A celebration of life is scheduled for June in Fairbanks. Announcements will be sent out accordingly. Flowers (she loved irises), donations and condolences may be offered during this time.
