KELLOGG — A Kellogg School District stalwart called it a career on Thursday night when Art Krulitz retired from his post on the Kellogg School District Board of Trustees.

Krulitz has been an active part of the school board for the last eight years and prior to that he was an employee for the KSD for many years.

Following the swearing in of new trustee Alexa Griffin, KSD superintendent Dr. Nancy Larsen tearfully presented Krulitz with a special plaque along with a bound book that had duplicates of the many awards Krulitz has received during his official capacity with the district.

“We never realized how many awards were in your personnel file, we also found your original application from when you started working for the Kellogg School District,” Larsen told Krulitz with a laugh. “We appreciate you for all that you’ve done and all of the hours you have spent working for this district.”

Krulitz worked for the district in many capacities, including as their transportation director for several years.

“It’s been many good years,” Krulitz said. “I will continue to always be a big supporter of the Kellogg School District.”

Krulitz was joined by his wife Sherry, and their daughters Keri Alexander and Karla Hegbloom, who got to see him receive his award and celebrate with him following the meeting’s conclusion.

Larsen echoed her earlier thankfulness at being able to work with Krulitz during her time with the district.

“Art Krulitz has given so much of his time and expertise to this district,” Larsen said. “We are so much better for having him with us and we hope continues to be active in the district and the community.”
