William “Harry” Burmeister, 97

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather, William “Harry” Burmeister, 97, of Silverton, Idaho, passed away January 8, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society Silver Wood Village of Silverton. He was born June 27, 1922 in Vancouver, B.C., Canada; Harry was the son of John and Irene (Bartrum) Burmeister.

Harry moved to the Silver Valley with his family when he was seven years old. He attended schools in Kellogg. Harry proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Harry was united in marriage to Donna Prichard on August 24, 1943 in Superior, Montana.

Harry had worked at the Superior Dairy of Kellogg, of which his father and later his brother-in-law owned and operated. He then went to work for Darigold of Kellogg for a few years and later for the Spokane Darigold serving as sales manager. After retiring from Darigold and moving to Juliaetta, Idaho, Harry and Donna owned and operated the Juliaetta Market for twenty years.

Harry was an original and founding member of the Osburn Lions Club, a member of the Kellogg Elks #1841, a member of the Osburn V.F.W. #1675 and had taken public speaking courses through the Dale Carnegie program. While residing in Juliaetta, Harry was an active member of the Senior Citizens.

Harry loved and enjoyed his family, blue back fishing and golfing.

Harry is survived by his beloved wife of seventy-six years Donna Burmeister of Silverton; five children Doug and his wife Gloria Burmeister of Big Creek- Kellogg; Jan Burks of Buena Vista, Oregon; Mark Burmeister of Big Creek- Kellogg; Debbie and her husband Phil Batchelder of Goodyear, Arizona; Chris and his wife Ilsa Burmeister of Coeur d’Alene River-Kingston, Idaho; fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and sisters and one daughter Marilyn Armour.

Memorial Services will be held and announced at a later date.
