Dr. Robert Charles Miller, 82
Dr. Robert Charles Miller, 82 of Wallace, Idaho, passed away on January 16, 2020. Robert was born April 30, 1937; the son of Jules and Irene (Astier) Miller.
Robert was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He attended and graduated from Loyola High School, class of 1955. He then went to undergraduate school at the University of Southern California. Following his education at USC, he completed specialty training at Miller Community College and received a Court Reporter state certification. Robert then attended law school at the University of Southern California where he received his Juris Doctorate in school of law.
Robert, being an accomplished individual, was a Emeritus Professor of Law in Los Angeles, a former Assistant District Attorney for the city of Los Angeles, as well as the division chair person Director of Legal Studies of College of the Redwoods. He was formally a Certified Court Reporter in both the state of California, as well as Alabama. While he was in Alabama, he instituted a court reporting program for the state. Before law school, Robert also was the Senior Legal Editor in San Diego for Harcourt, Brace, and Jovanovich Publishers. Throughout his illustrious career, Robert was most proud of his 10 years working as a substitute teacher in Wallace, Idaho- where he was able to mold and touch young lives.
Robert was a member of the California Bar Association for many years. He also was a member of the Cultural Exchange Program with the Soviet Union in 1977.
Robert was an avid collector of old films. He also enjoyed music, reading, and backpacking. He loved to travel all over the world anytime the opportunity presented itself. Most of all, Robert enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife, Anne.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Anne Freeman-Miller of Wallace, Idaho; his daughters, Denise Miller of Alabama and Julia Hartwig of Nevada; his dear sisters, Susan and Chris of Southern California, as well as his brother John of Southern California. Robert was preceded in death by both parents, Jules and Irene Miller.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
