A fresh take on a familiar place

KELLOGG — Silver Mountain is extending their lodging options for guests now that they have opened the Silver Inn.

The hotel, formerly known as the Silverhorn Motor Inn, was purchased by Silver Mountain Resort in late 2019 and had been renovating the 40-room facility right up until their reopening last Friday.

The hotel had been open since 1978 before being purchased and revamped, but it was the conjoined restaurant, the Silver Spoon, which had been an incredibly popular haunt for several decades before closing a few years before Silver Mountain’s purchase.

At this time, Silver Mountain does not have plans to reopen the restaurant portion, but will provide a continental breakfast for its guests.

Unlike the Resort, which feels a lot more — well — like a resort than a simple hotel, the Silver Inn will be more of a traditional hotel experience, which may be more enticing for some folks looking to stay in the area.

Although they don’t have any special packages for guests at their new facility, they will be offering discounted rates for guests to get into Silver Rapids Water Park once they are allowed to operate at normal capacity.

Silver Mountain will be hosting an open house event this Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m to give locals a chance to see the many updates that have been completed on the hotel, while enjoying a complimentary drink.

“We’re proud to offer another lodging option for guests that are coming to experience the Silver Valley,” said General Manager Jeff Colburn. “The renovations turned out great, and we’re excited to get people inside to see the rooms.”

The Silver Inn is located at 699 W. Cameron Ave. in Kellogg, and reservations can be made by calling 866-344-2675.
