James “Russ” Russell Tinder, 82

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, James “Russ” Russell Tinder, 82, of Kingston, Idaho, passed away June 5, 2020 at his home with his family by his side. Russ was born April 6, 1938 in Platte City, Missouri. Russ was the son of James and Jennie (Noland) Tinder. Russ grew up on the family farm with his three brothers and two sisters.

Russ attended Platte City High School and later went on to attend college. In his thirties, Russ joined the United States Army. Russ served in the Army overseas from 1961 to 1963. After returning home, Russ worked as a long haul truck driver, spent time working construction, building grain elevators and sugar tanks. Russ also spent several years working for General Motors, Trans World Airlines and the Camas, WA School District before retiring.

In 1992, Russ was united in marriage to Shirley Morris. Together they moved to Smelterville, Idaho and began operating and maintaining a mobile home park and several apartments. In 2003 they decided to open the Espresso Barn. Russ was the self described gopher for the business.

Russ’s favorite pass-times over the years were hunting with his dog, Heidi, working on cars, gardening and canning with his wife, Shirley, and spending time with family and friends.

Russ is survived by his beloved wife Shirley Tinder; three children Amy (David) Renner, Renee (Johnny Ray) Watson and Robert Morris; his sister Mabel Johnston. Russ is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Russ was preceded in death by his parents and siblings

Cremation will take place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
