Wallace Brewing’s Red Light takes silver at Best of Craft Beer Competition

WALLACE — The Wallace Brewing Company just can’t seem to help itself when it comes to stacking up awards for its beer.
Over the course of five years, Wallace Brewing has earned a total of five different top-3 medals for beer it has submitted to the annual Best of Craft Beer Competition in Bend, Ore.
Held in June 2019, this year’s competition gave out 285 total awards for various categories of craft beer. One of these awards in particular was a silver medal that went to Wallace Brewing’s Red Light that was entered into the Irish-Style Red Ale category.
The category had a total of 26 entries and the Red Light won out over all of them except for Quarter Celtic Brewpub’s Crimson Lass — which took first place.
With this recent addition, the Red Light now holds two silver medals from this specific competition. Wallace Brewing submitted a total of six beers to this latest Best of Craft Beer Competition.
The Red Light is described a 5% ABV beer that, “has an attractive ruby red color that leads into a complex caramel malty experience with hints of biscuit, nut, toffee, cherry/plum and distinct roasted notes from the chocolate malt.”
Wallace Brewing owner Chase Sanborn is proud of his brewing team and the Red Light’s consistency when it comes to taking home hardware.
“It’s awesome that this beer continues to win awards,” he said, “Especially considering that its recipe hasn’t changed.”
Wallace Brewing was one of four other breweries from Idaho that received awards this year.
