Vote ‘yes’ for Kellogg schools

| March 2, 2020 1:15 PM

On Tuesday, March 10, voters in the Kellogg School District will have a chance to head to the polls and vote for the district’s REPLACEMENT supplemental levy. I urge you to vote YES!

Kellogg is not alone in relying on supplemental levies to support their general fund. In 2019, 92 of the state’s 115 school districts, including Kellogg, depended on tax payers to make up the difference between state funding received and their yearly budget. Kellogg School District uses these supplemental levy dollars to pay approximately 28% of their yearly operational costs.

As a parent of a current student and a recent graduate, I have seen through the years what benefits students receive from our local tax support. From all day kindergarten, to extracurricular activities such as music and sports, I can personally attest to the need and benefit of these dollars.

Please reach out to the district office if you have questions. You can visit their website at www.kelloggschools.org for contact information, or visit KSDPride.org for information about the levy and precinct locations.

Please vote YES for Kellogg Schools on March 10.
