Community Library Network COVID-19 Proactive Response

| March 12, 2020 5:52 PM

The Community Library Network is taking preventative and proactive steps to help address the rapidly evolving situation with the Novel Coronavirus, known also as COVID-19. As of March 13, 2020, all programs at each library are canceled until April 3, 2020. At that time the situation will be reassessed. The Bookmobile will remain in service. The Library Network is committed to the health and safety of our members and with sharing information.

No Network libraries are closed at this time. Athol, Harrison, Hayden, Pinehurst, Post Falls, Rathdrum and Spirit Lake locations remain open to the public. We encourage members to use our website to place holds, download e-books and audio books, and use online reference resources.

“The decision to temporarily cancel our programs is backed by our Board in an effort to respond proactively,” said Director John Hartung. Children are among the most vulnerable population. Family Story Time at Post Falls will live stream on the library’s Facebook page on March 13, at 10:30 a.m.

Additional precautions recommended by the CDC are also employed at each Library Network location. Supplementary hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes are available for visitors and protective and preventive information is posted at each location. The Network’s website www.librarynetwork.net includes links to reliable sources and social media pages about the virus.
