KPD Roll Call: March 3-11

•Responded to a report of a possible burglary on Wildcat Way. K76 and K77 checked the area and made contact with an individual. They later discovered said individual was not burglarizing, just walking their puppy around.

•Assisted K76 with his DUI arrest on McKinley Ave. K77 ended up giving the passenger a ride home after was all said and done.

•Motorist assist at Main and McKinley Ave, after contacting the driver they weren’t having car trouble. However, a pungency of intoxicants was coming from the vehicle, driver was taken into custody for DUI. Cleared, arrest.

•Patrolled side streets.

•School patrol.

•Abandoned paper work.

•Assist K72 with a traffic stop I-90 on Ramp MP50.

•Received a phone report of a dog at large at the 200 block of E. Cameron Ave. The dog was booked into the pound. Cleared, public assist.

•Dispatched to a report of a possible verbal domestic at the 200 block of Gold St. It was determined to be a child home alone angry at his video game. Cleared, unfounded.

•Dispatched to a report of a property damage hit and run crash at the 400 block of W. Cameron. After the suspected party made contact with the property owner, they worked it out without police interaction.

•Traffic Stop at the I-90 milepost 50 westbound on-ramp (violation occurred in the city). Shoshone County Sheriff K9 assist was requested with a positive alert. Despite claims that one male only had pens in his pocket, ultimately loaded syringes was discovered in said pocket along with other paraphernalia in the vehicle. One male was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of paraphernalia. Cleared, felony arrest.

•Traffic Stop at the 100 block of N. Hill St. Cleared, verbal warning for equipment.

•Handled a landline request regarding custodial interference. Educated both parties about Idaho laws pertaining to court orders.

•Served papers on the 700 block of Caledonia.

•Conducted a traffic stop on at the intersection of Hill St. & Railroad Ave. Educated said individual about the little signs under stop signs saying what kind of intersection they are at and who has the right away to avoid cutting people off who have the right of way.

•Ran paperwork up to Court for in-custody and other cases.

•Traffic Stop at the 400 block of W. Cameron Ave. Cleared, verbal warning for equipment.

•Dispatched to a report of a protection order violation at the 100 block of E. Portland Ave. No protection order violation, but it was a continuation of an active stalking case. Cleared, report taken.

•Evidence work.

•Released a dog from the pound to its owner.

•Traffic stop on McKinley Ave. near the area of Government Gulch. Cleared, citation issued for driving without privileges.

•Traffic stop on McKinley Ave. near the area of Government Gulch. Shoshone County K9 assist was requested with a positive alert. One female was taken into custody for possession of paraphernalia. Cleared, misdemeanor arrest.

•Received a walk-in report and conducted follow-up for a battery that occurred the night prior. Cleared, report taken.

•Assisted the Fire Department with a report of a female choking on a bone. Cleared, other agency assist.

•Citizen contact at KPD regarding vehicle equipment.

•Medical assist 400 block of Bunker Ave for person choking / agency assist.

•Parking ticket issued Division/I90 for parking in no parking zone.

•Traffic complaint in the area of Hill and McKinley, originated Bunker and Hill. Unable to identify make/model of vehicle, video was taken that did not give any information other than dark colored SUV. Advised the pedestrian/complainant that it is inadvisable to be wearing black clothing at night expecting autos to see them while attempting to cross the road. Unable to locate.

•Called to 600 block McKinley Ave for animal complaint. Dog barking after 10. spoke with owners cleared NAT.

•Called to SMC for disturbance. Patient was not agreeing with the staff. After my arrival the patient had more... patience.

•While at SMC, K75 was called to Silver Mountain parking lot for vehicle crash and possible 8004. Upon further investigation, one male was taken on a detox. Also cited and released for DUI excessive.

•While handling DUI call, the impatient patient decided to become uncooperative again. County handled (K75 was handling DUI investigation). Patient was gone before their arrival.

•Called to Mountain Health for business alarm. Cleared building secured.

•Called to SMC for 911 open line. Cleared unfounded.

•Report work and evidence work.

•Ran paperwork to the Courts.

•Interviewed a subject at the Police Department regarding a reported battery.

•Unsecured vehicle door at the 300 block of E. Idaho Ave.

•Notified the vehicle owner. Cleared, public assist.

•Handled a public nuisance complaint regarding a neighbor’s dog poop accumulating. The responsible party was advised to fix the issue. Cleared, NAT.

•Disturbance Building C of Silver Mountain. 2 intoxicated individuals being loud. They were contacted and advised to quiet down, they in turn complained about a dog barking from further down the hall. Confirmed with front desk the owners of the dog had already been talked to. Peace restored.

•100 block of Elder, motorist assist (basically traffic control while one truck went to tow another truck to get work done).

•Stationary patrols 300 block E. Portland.

•Traffic stop at 1000 block of McKinley, verbal for speed.

•Landline request regarding battery. After making contact, the battery was already reported and being investigated. Civil stand-by was requested in the 300 block of W. Brown. Upon arrival, it was determined there was nobody there to cause an issue, public assist.

•Called to Morning Star Lodge for intoxicated female running down the halls yelling something about the corona virus. Female was verbally warned about the noise. Cleared peace restored.

•Assist County with warrant service. Deputy made contact with individual with Code 6 C. Subject fled on foot and was gone prior to my arrival, cleared other agency assist.

•Called to Smelterville to assist burglary alarm. Cleared other agency assist.

•Called to 700 block Bunker for domestic in progress. Parties were separated prior to my arrival. Cleared parties separated.

•Stationary radar patrol Station Ave. Cameron Ave, Bunker Ave.

•Landline request regarding property. RP lives in another state and sent their property in to get repaired. They have not heard back from person receiving property. Made contact with person that received property and was shown there has been contact between the two. This is a civil matter regarding warranty work and waiting on parts to fix property.

•Parking issue 500 block of Main Street. Advised a white Jeep was in the area that is blocked off for tree service. There was no jeep upon arrival. Will keep an eye out in the event it shows back up in order to tell them to have it moved by 7 a.m. tomorrow to allow for the service.

•Verbal warning given for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license (subject was out of the vehicle when seen and not seen driving). Advised if seen driving they would receive another citation (K74 had cited previously for the same offense).

•Suspicious persons at Silver mountain and Fairbridge. It was the couple that were at Silver Mountain last night and moving hotels. There was nothing going on.

•Foot patrols Bunker Ave.

•Called to 400 block 2nd Street for intoxicated male not responsive. Cleared other agency assist. Male was later cleared from SMC, but placed on a detox hold as he was not playing nice with others.

•Called to Silver Mountain for intoxicated male. Once individual was guided to room and there were no further issues.

•Landline request regarding mail.

•Landline request regarding barking dogs, warning given to owner (action already taken and pending court).

•Contact home owner on the corner of Mill and Kellogg Avenue regarding moving property for tree service. They will notify key holder of said property and they are unsure if they will be able to move prior to 7 a.m. as the person works in Post Falls until the morning hours.

•Tagged a vehicle in the 20 block of Diamond for 48-hour removal.

•Traffic stop Bunker and State, verbal for speed 31/25.

•Traffic stop Hill and I90. Field sobriety evals completed (no arrest). Citation for expired vehicle registration.

•Traffic stop Division and Cameron, citation for expired registration.

•Follow up on theft case.

•Report of a dog in the roadway Mission/Hill area, checked the area and spoke with residents that had not seen any dogs running at large (there were turkeys in the area though).

•Went to Wallace on follow-up.

•Went to Big Creek on Follow-up.

•Rumor has it that KPD hired a DJ.

•Interview at KPD reference theft (report will be updated).

•No internet day.

•Cleaned cold storage.

•Radar patrol at Cameron Ave, Bunker Ave & Station Ave.
