Maxine Joyce Johnson, 92

Maxine Joyce Johnson, 92, of Wardner, Idaho, passed away March 12, 2020 at Kootenai Health of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. She was born December 18, 1927 in Los Angeles, California; Maxine was the daughter of John and Elsie (Krebs) Wallender.

Maxine moved to the Silver Valley as a young girl from California; she attended schools in Kellogg.

Maxine married Kenneth M. Johnson on June 2, 1946 in Kellogg, Idaho. Kenneth passed away on April 29, 2000.

Maxine was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pinehurst First Baptist Church, a member of the Grandmother’s Club and in earlier years a member of the Women’s Bowling League.

Maxine loved and enjoyed her family, fishing and horseback riding with her husband Kenneth, card games and dominos.

Maxine is survived by two children Robert “Bob” and his wife Lynda Johnson of Smelterville, Idaho; Sue Clapp of Wardner, Idaho; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; one brother Clifford Wallender of Coos Bay, Oregon; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth and two daughters Bonnie Johnson and Vicki Mitchell.

Private Family services will be held at a later date.
