Shoshone County has taken several measures to ensure the health and safety of our citizens and staff. We appreciate you working with us through these challenging times.

As the May 19th Primary Election draws near, our Elections Division has been working to define the best practices to ensure a safe and effective voting experience for everyone. The simplest and most effective defense against spreading the COVID-19 Virus is to reduce the amount of people visiting the polling locations on election day.

I would like to encourage all Shoshone County Residents to register for absentee voting in the primary election. This form can also be used to select absentee voting for all remaining elections in 2020. Absentee voting is a easy as 1, 2, 3.

1. Complete the Absentee Ballot Form and Mail it to the County Clerk at 700 Bank St., Ste 120, Wallace, ID 83873.

a. On-line at the Idaho Votes Website (http://idahovotes.gov/vote-early- idaho/)

b. On-line at the Shoshone County Website — Clerks Page (www.shoshonecounty.id.gov)

c. Phone the County Elections Director at 208-752-1264

d. Email the Election Director at sfeatherstone@co.shoshone.id.gov

2. Ballot will be mailed to you no earlier than 45 days before the election. Wait for your ballot to arrive in the mail. Please allow 10-14 days for your ballot to arrive once they begin sending them out.

3. Vote and return your ballot in the envelopes provided prior to Election Day on May 19.

A polling location will be open for those that do not register for absentee voting. Many of our poll workers are currently in a very vulnerable population. We would love to protect them during this election season by providing alternative support at the polls and provide a safe and smooth election process for Everyone involved. If you are interested in becoming a poll worker, please contact our County Clerk’s Office-Election Division.

Thank you for your support.
