‘Murder Hornets,’ with sting that can kill, land in U.S.
Asian giant hornet, the world’s largest species of hornet, was found late last year in northwest Washington. WSU Extension scientists are partnering with state agencies, beekeepers, and citizens to identify and report the invasive insect.

SPOKANE — The world’s largest hornet, a 2-inch killer dubbed the “Murder Hornet” with an appetite for honey bees, has been found in Washington state, where entomologists were making plans to wipe it out.
