Dale Roy Noordam, 67

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother and friend, Dale Roy Noordam, 67, of Mullan, Idaho, passed away May 24, 2020 at the Shoshone Medical Center of Kellogg, Idaho. He was born October 27, 1952 in Missoula, Montana; Dale was the son of Harry and Evelyn (Kolczak) Noordam.

Dale attended and graduated from the Mullan High School of Mullan in 1971. He has lived in the Silver Valley all of his life.

Dale married Carol McPhail on March 28, 1998 in Mullan.

Dale had worked at Terry’s Texaco of Mullan and then Stovern’s Supply of Wallace. He then served as a miner at the Lucky Friday Mine and the Galena Mine. And lastly, Dale worked in road construction as a supervisor.

Dale was a member of the Operating Engineers Union, a member of the Mullan Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Friends of the Mullan Volunteer Fire Department and was serving on the Mullan City Council; at a young age, Dale had also served as Mayor of the City of Mullan. He also served as Little League Baseball coach. Dale loved and enjoyed collecting trains, black powder hunting, camping, NASCAR and football (he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan). Dale was instrumental in beautifying Mullan Cemeteries and honoring their veterans by placing flags, cleaning graves and making sure all veterans had headstones. He was also instrumental in upgrading and honoring deceased firemen of the Mullan Volunteer Fire Department. The community sincerely appreciates and gives heartfelt thanks to Dale for honoring our fallen heroes.

Dale is survived by his beloved wife Carol Noordam of Mullan; eight children Bruce (Mary Ellen) VanBroeke of Mullan, Laurie Gray of Osburn, Idaho, Barbara Brogan of Moscow, Idaho, Bret (Tracy) Skavland of Kellogg, Keith VanBroeke of Columbia Falls, Montana, Jennifer Ovnicek of Wallace, Idaho, Troy Osadicz of Hoquiam, Washington; and Meredith Evens of Petersburg, Alaska; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; four sisters Gloria Ravert of Des Moines, Washington, Judy (Don) Kirby of Tucson, Arizona, Marilyn Hummel also of Tucson and Bernadine (Richard) Baldwin of Spokane, Washington; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Harry Noordam and one grandson Brandon Gray.

A Celebration of Dale’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at the Morning Club of Mullan, Idaho. Light refreshments will be provided by Dale’s family.
