by Sgt. Paul Twidt
| November 26, 2020 8:00 AM

•Grand Theft Vehicle 400 block W. Brown - Upon arrival, it turns out it was a Repo by the company purchased from. Gave information for going about retrieval of personal property (other jurisdiction) in order to contact for civil stand-by when the business is open. Cleared civil.

•Responded to the 100 block of N. Hill St. for a 911 hang-up. Made contact with multiple parties and discovered an unlawful entry had taken place on a parked vehicle. Said individual was located and arrested after K77 conducted an investigation. Said person was pretty drunk, walking home from the bar, and broke into a vehicle which was up for sale in the Yokes parking lot. Unfortunately for Mr. Drunk guy, there were three out-of-towners sleeping in their vehicle in the parking lot too and called 911. K77 saw Mr. Drunk guy running away from the scene and detained him after speaking with the reporting party. Mr. Drunk Guy denied entering the vehicle, but it was hard to deny this when he dropped his wallet containing his ID inside the car. Sometimes they almost arrest themselves. But don't worry everyone- this is not why he was arrested. Mr. Drunk Guy kept refusing to follow commands after K77 detained him soooo...Obstruct & Delay was the flavor of the day. He was then cited for unlawful entry.

•Flagged down by male walking on McKinley Ave. He wanted to tell me he had a warrant. Subject was arrested and transported without incident. Cleared, misdemeanor arrest.

•Vehicle tagged 48-hour removal on the corner of Oregon and W. Mullan. No plates, but shows it is registered.

•Vehicle tagged 48-hour removal 300 block E. Idaho. No plates but a bill of sale in the back window. Teal Nissan Sentra. This is on private property and the management/maintenance requested it be tagged for removal, as they have asked the subject to move it repeatedly.

•Landline request (voicemail) regarding tagging vehicles for removal in the 400 block of W. Mullan. Civil issue and unable to tag vehicles.

•Assist County in Wallace with an open door on Cedar St. behind the Sheriff's Office. This is when K74 was in the booking area and a special trip was not needed. No open door was found.

•Suspicious circumstances at the Dave Smith car lot on McKinley Ave. Cleared unfounded.

•Called to E Portland for a report of a stabbing victim. Cleared unfounded.

•Assist county with Welfare check. Subject was code 4.

•Landline request regarding suspicious activity 100 block E. Portland. Possibly someone coming out of a residence they should not be in. After talking with the original RP, this is unfounded.

•Took a dog into the pound from County, picked up in Smelterville (long hair Dachshund).

•Welfare check 100 block Presley on a report of possible child abuse. Child is currently with grandparent in Spokane, Washington. Referred to another agency for a welfare check.

•Motorcycles behind Lend Nation again. Was able to talk with them this time and told them they are trespassing and will be charged if they go back up there again. Cleared, warning.

•Report of a stolen vehicle. The big white Dodge truck that was parked behind the Gondolier was taken sometime Sunday night Monday morning. Update- the truck was found and recovered. Video footage of the truck being flat towed by a car was found and charges are pending. On a side note, just because a vehicle is tagged to be towed does not mean that it is free and you can come take it away if it's not yours. That is grand theft and you will go to jail.

•Who let the dogs out? K79 Let dogs out of the pound. Clear public assist.

•Malicious injury to property on the 300 block of W. Portland. Clear report taken.

•Dispatched to the 100 block of W. Idaho Ave. for an unlawful entry. Checked the residence but was unable to locate anyone trying to break into a home. Cleared unfounded.

•Dispatched to the 300 block of McKinley Ave. for a possible fight in progress. Parties were separated and peace was restored.

•See I told you the Vikings like to get my hopes up and then crush them like sardines in a tin box.

•Dispatched to the 700 block of Upper 3rd St. for an animal complaint. Reporting party was a little mad about a dog barking (Rightfully so). Located the residence where the dog was howling at the moon and was unable to make contact with the owner because they were not home at the time. Follow-up will be conducted on my next shift to give a verbal warning. Update- owner of the howling dog was cited for disturbing the peace.

•Responded to a hit & run vehicle accident at the corner of Cathleen & Hill Street. Report was taken and charges are pending. Mr. Hit and Run decided to drive intoxicated and took out an entire fence on his way home...almost made it. K77 asked Mr. Hit and Run what happened and he denied the whole thing. Then he realized it was a little difficult to argue the point when K77 showed him that there were pieces of the fence in his driveway and...get this...on the hood of his pickup.

•Disturbance at 600 block Bunker Ave. Bachelorette party... no further comments. Cleared peace restored.

•Sat at the edge of town while the county looked for a wanted subject (warrant out of Washington) in Smelterville. Subject was on foot and did not come into Kellogg via Main/Bike path.

•On a special note, the nozzle on the coffee maker does come off (where the water goes into the coffee basket). If you are not careful, it will fall off and wedge itself between the countertop and the wall. The issue is that one cannot simply move the counter in order to retrieve this piece....needless to say it was a fun adventure but everything is back and will produce coffee normally. 🙂

•Assist County with failure to yield, which resulted in a single vehicle crash. Cleared other agency assist.

•Welfare check at Morning Star Lodge. Cleared NAT.

•Two vehicle crash on McKinley Ave. Cleared report taken.

•Landline request regarding trees overhanging a driveway.

•Evidence returned from the lab placed back into the evidence room.

•Assist county with disturbance on Power Ave. in Kingston, subject giving signs of fighting...decided to take a ride to a friend's house instead.

•Motorist assist on S Division. A camp trailer had come off the hitch and off the SUV that was towing it. Was able to assist a good samaritan with getting the camper back on the hitch for the lady who was towing the trailer. Cleared NAT.

•Noise complaint/Disturb the peace on 200 block E. Portland. Persons playing music very loudly inside a vehicle. Contacted RP and they stated subjects left right after calling in. Vehicle was still there, but nobody was around, unable to identify other than gender. Advised to call if it persists and would look into possible charges at that time (subject was willing to sign citation, but could not identify suspect). Unable to locate.

•Citizen contact at the Gondolier. Driver was getting some rest while traveling. Cleared NAT.

Be safe, be happy, snow happens...Slow down people!
