OSBURN — The Wallace School District announced on Monday that a WSD/Silver Hills Elementary employee tested positive for COVID-19.

WSD Superintendent Todd Howard explained in a press release that for the sake of privacy, the individual's name will not be released.

"There is nothing more important to WSD than the safety and health of our students, staff and their families," he said. "Because your child/children attend a school in WSD, it is possible, but not certain, that they could have come into contact with this person while at school."

Due to possible contact, Panhandle Health District officials recommend that parents of children at the school closely monitor their child/children for possible symptoms for the next two to 14 days.

If a child has been determined to have been in "close contact" with this COVID-19 positive individual, parents will be directly contacted by one of the administrators of WSD.

Howard added that WSD will continue to follow all COVID-19 related safety procedures found in its "COVID-19 Operational Plan," which can be located on the district/school websites.
