Janice Ruth Truant

Janice Ruth Truant, passed away Feb. 25, 2020, in Aurora, Colo. She was born in Wallace, Idaho, in 1943 to Corbin and Virginia Neville.

Janice was a very loving and caring wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She devoted her entire career to high school education and athletics. From teaching Health and PE for more than 25 years, to working at the WIAA and finally retiring as a Vice Principal and Athletic Director.

Janice was a pioneer in the Washington State Title IX movement, helping thousands of students participate in sports. She also volunteered countless hours at all of the WIAA sporting events and state championships.

She always had a passion for the outdoors whether it was gardening, painting, going for walks with friends or playing her favorite sport, golf.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Angela (Tom) Daniels of Aurora; her son, Tony (Jen) Truant of Mill Creek, Wash.; her six grandchildren, Brittany, Kyle, Sami, Maddie, Jack and Cole; as well as her brother, Mike (Milli) Neville; her sister, Susanne Neville; and four nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, at St. Alphonsus' Church in Wallace, Idaho. There will be a reception to follow at 1:30 p.m. at St. Rita’s Church in Kellogg, Idaho.

Donations may be given to any local charity of your choice.

Cremation Society of Colorado are in charge of arrangements.
