Silver Valley Community Market right around the corner
KELLOGG — The Silver Valley Community Market will be making a triumphant return to the Kellogg City Park and vendors should start gearing up for the weekly party in the park.
After operating successfully for two years, the pandemic shut down the event last year, which was a loss for everyone involved, including the host organization the Silver Valley Chamber — where the market had quickly become one of their most popular events.
This year the Thursday evening market is going to run from June 24 through Aug. 19, and will feature live music each week, as well as food and a beer and wine garden.
“We are really excited to be able to engage with our community again,” organizer Sarah Murphy said.
Last year, Murphy and the Chamber tried in vain to find a way to accommodate having the market as small outdoor events were among the few things that could happen during that stage in the pandemic, which makes its return so much sweeter for the organizers.
The event was one of several outdoor public events that the Kellogg City Council recently approved, which is a giant step in the right direction for our small community to return to normalcy.
Over the years the market has had a diverse array of vendors, ranging from intricate hand-made trinkets, clothing, plants and flowers, as well as some specialty consumable items like cotton candy, kombucha and pickled foods.
Vendors should begin to not only begin stocking up on their goods to sell, but should be looking for the Silver Valley Chamber to post the link for vendor registration on their website.
As of right now, any vendor who is interested should email Murphy at sarah@localproperty.com and let her know what you would like to sell at this year’s markets.
