by SGT. PAUL TWIDT/Kellogg Police Department
| December 9, 2021 4:00 PM

After investigation, that driver was taken into custody for DUI (.193/.186). Cite and release for leaving the scene of accident. Held on Agent's Warrant.

• Possible unlawful entry. Attempted, Teeters Field concession stand (or bathrooms), RP reports seeing two juveniles possibly trying to kick in one of the doors. Nobody in the area upon arrival. All buildings checked were secured and did not appear to be tampered with.

• Dispatched to a loud boom at 100 block E. Portland. Cleared, report taken, investigation ongoing. From what K78 was able to piece together, someone had a firework mortar — but no mortar tube, so instead they took the metal bathroom garbage can and tried to use it as a mortar tube. The mortar was lit, but K78 thinks the can was too large to produce lift, so instead the mortar detonated at the bottom of the small metal garbage can- making a pretty big boom and shredding the can.
