LETTER: Pot meet kettle?

Yes Really…

In a most recent letter to the editor, a fellow Silver Valley resident was alarmed by a recent poll reporting that 68 percent of the Republican Party does not believe Biden is the legitimate president. He seemed very concerned about their ability to perform in good conscience to perform their duties while thinking they are without a legitimate president.

In response to his concern I would refer him to the May 2017 Harvard-Harris poll that reported "68 percent of voters said Democrats have not accepted that Trump won fairly and is a legitimate president."

Yes, 68 percent exactly.

Where was our friend in 2017? Was he voicing concern in reference to Democratic legislators and their sworn duties at that time?

Did his Democratic legislators perform their duties in good faith? Did he care when the shoe was on the other foot?

If he did, he must not have had the motivation to express it here in the local newspaper. Or just perhaps, he was only 32 percent motivated to do so.
