ISP investigating fatal accident

SAGLE — Idaho State Police are investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred Monday, Dec. 27 at approximately 09:54 a.m. on U.S. 95 at Dufort Road near Sagle.

A John Deere utility vehicle, driven by an 84-year-old male from Sagle, was headed eastbound attempting to cross the highway from Dufort Road to E. Dufort Road when it was struck on the passenger side by a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 70-year-old male from Kalispell, Montana, who was northbound on the highway.

The driver of the Silverado was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. The driver of the John Deere was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the John Deere utility vehicle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Idaho State Police along with the Bonner County Coroner have made next of kin notification.

The intersection of U.S. 95 and Dufort Road was partially blocked for approximately 3-hours.

The incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
