James Ashley (Jim) Wilcox, 71

| February 25, 2021 10:20 AM

Faithful husband, loving father, grandfather and soon-to-be great-grandfather passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Feb. 19, 2021.

Born May 25, 1949, in Pierre, S.D., James was the son of Ashley and Helen Wilcox. His family moved to North Idaho in 1951. James attended both grade school and high school in the Wallace School District. Shortly after graduating in 1968, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.

After returning to the states in 1970, he married Shirley Turner. They were married for more than 50 years.

James worked various jobs throughout his life; auto mechanic, saw mill worker, then going to the mines. For 23 years, he and Shirley managed the Elk Creek Store.

James enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping, but most of all, he loved being around his family.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Pinehurst, Idaho, where he greatly enjoyed meeting with his brothers and sisters in Christ on Sundays.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son Aaron Wilcox; daughter Marie Wilcox (Ed O’Brien); grandson Cameron Robinett (Mariah); one great-grandson (soon-to-come!); sister Pam (James) Griffith; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
