Kellogg Police Department Roll Call: Jan. 5-12

• Assisted county with a felony warrant service.

• Citizen contact, suspicious persons bike trail adjacent to 200 block Station Avenue. Dave Smith’s security called saying he saw a woman walk behind the carwash portion of Dave Smith and he followed her off the property. He later saw her again with a black backpack and a big garbage bag and when he followed her, she took off running. K78 found a female matching the description on the bike trail with a bunch of plastic she said she took from the dumpster behind Ace Hardware. Follow up to continue.

• Released a dog from the pound.

• Good luck K79, he just was shipped off to POST for 14 weeks.

• Dispatched to the 600 block of Bunker Avenue for a possible domestic. Upon arrival, I found no evidence of a battery occurring. However, after ensuring everyone was safe, K77 cleared the scene but ended up recontacting the same party moments later. Three arrests were made for disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer and they were also trespassed.

• Called to the 300 block of W. Cameron Avenue for possible shots fired/disturbance-Cleared report taken everyone was code 4 follow up will be conducted.

• Contacted by an individual in the Kellogg Police Department parking lot about some law questions. Cleared, public assist.

• Agency assist Idaho State Police with crash investigation. Driver from crash at mile post 28 was at Fairbridge, contact made and statement given.

Interviews for sexual battery investigation.

• Wanted subject on Wildcat Way, contact made and warrant confirmed. Arrest by K79 (warrant only).

• Possible stalking 100 block E. Portland. Unfounded, this was attempted unlawful entry and malicious injury to property, report taken.

• Conducted follow-up on two separate cases to provide statement forms.

• Handled another landline request regarding suspicious persons. Requested more information from reporting party and the investigation is on-going.

• Dispatched to a report of shots fired on the 300 block of W. Cameron Avenue. Checked the area but did not observe any such activity and nobody witnessed the event. K76 and K77 spoke to the person of interest but they denied these accusations. Report was taken.

• Traffic stop on Hill Street near the Conoco for crossing double yellow, verbal warning.

• Called to the 300 block of W. Cameron Avenue more info below.

• Called to the area of Silver Mountain for a suspicious vehicle, UTL.

• Search warrant execution.

• Follow-up on active investigations.

• Report and evidence day.

• Towed a vehicle from N. Division near Riverside, the vehicle was involved in a crash somewhere, but did not locate where the crash occurred. Vehicle is a 1997 Toyota 4Runner and registered to a guy from Sandpoint. I was able to find a phone number, but the number is not accepting phone calls. There has been no reports of crashes or injured persons going to the hospital here. This was not fresh, as the vehicle had been left overnight (heavy frost on the vehicle). Report taken.

• LL request regarding welfare check 400 block Main Street attempted x2 went directly to voicemail and mailbox was full.

• Welfare check regarding the LL request from earlier. Subjects code 4.

• Made a citizen contact at the Kellogg City Park regarding being in the park after hours. And who might this person have been? You guested it! Steel Reserve Man! In the flesh! He was given a verbal warning about park hours and he left the area.

• Conducted extra patrols which were requested on the 300 block of W. Mullan Avenue. K76 and K77 made contact with an individual who was squatting in a garage. That individual turned out to be none other than the Steel Reserve Man again. K77 escorted him off the property because the owner did not want him squatting.

• Called to a suspicious person in the area of IGA apparently trying to open doors on the cars in the parking lot. Contacted, yes, you guessed, it was Steel Reserve Man.

• Parking complaint 600 block Silver Mountain. Cleared, parking citation issued x3.

• Suspicious circumstances 200 block Emerald Avenue. Cleared, public assist.

• Vehicle theft 100 block Legion. Cleared, report taken vehicle entered into NCIC.

• Wanted subject in the area of Riverside. Located subject on Brown Avenue took subject into custody without incident.

• 911 open line 300 block Mullan Avenue. Cleared, kids playing with phone.

• Placed a dog in the pound from the county. Dog was found in the Bubble Bee area.

• Spoke with Kootenai County dispatch about K75's stolen vehicle. It was recovered near the state line with the suspect in the vehicle along with his girlfriend. Vehicle taken out of NCIC.

• Dispatched to Silver Mountain for the smell of some pakalolo. Surprisingly, Mr. Late night toker would not answerer the door and K73 was unable to smell any of the pakalolo in the hallway. Cleared, unfounded.

• Disturbance 600 block Bunker Avenue. Cleared, verbal.

• Assisted county with domestic in Wallace. Cleared, other agency assist.

• Released dog from pound.

• VIN inspection at the Kellogg Police Department.

• Forensic interview in Coeur d'Alene.

• Landline request regarding a H&W intake worksheet from Kootenai.

• Civil standby 400 block of Mullan. Cleared, after an hour.

• Foot patrol McKinley Avenue and Main.

• Reports (fun times with ARTS locking up).

• Landline request and landline(s) made regarding active cases to persons involved and Prosecutor's Office.

• Landline request regarding stolen vehicle. Turns out this was a county case, but K74 was able to help the person on the phone anyhow.

• Landline request regarding stolen snowboard, turns out this too was a county case as it was taken from the top of the mountain.

• Juvenile issue at the middle school, tobacco violation (will be dealt with tomorrow as parent was not in town).

• Called to Yoke's for a person that appeared to be highly intoxicated. When K73 arrived, he noticed Steel Reserve Man in the parking lot, and yup he was intoxicated. Steel Reserve left the property on his own.

• Called back to Yoke's because Steel Reserve Man had made his way back and now was asking for money from customers. Told him that he has enough for the day and that he needed to go sleep it off. He agreed. Cleared, NAT.

Be happy, be safe, just say no to Steel Reserve.
