Gail Elisabeth Muckey, 81
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Gail Elisabeth Muckey passed away peacefully at her home on Jan. 11, 2021, with her daughters by her side. Gail was born on July 8, 1939, in Antioch, Calif. She was the daughter of Arthur and Elisabeth (Rodda) Buske.
Gail grew up in California where she attended and graduated high school. On Oct. 15, 1960, Gail was united in marriage to Sherman Muckey in Reno, Nev. Together they raised two daughters. Gail was a homemaker for many years, but also spent time working on several horse ranches.
Gail was very active and was a member of Gold Prospectors of America, Jenny Lind Fire Department, Shoshone Ranger Saddle Club, she was a Girl Scouts Leader and 4-H Leader. She was also a Daughter of the American Revolution. In her free time, she loved horseback riding, camping, rock hounding, gardening and going shopping for gifts. She especially loved spending time with her beloved family.
Gail is survived by her daughters, Sherryl (Bruce) Yates and Julie (Rocque) Marquez; her grandchildren, Jeffrey (Merissa) Marquez, Eryn (Kenny) Cloos, Roy Yates and Samantha Yates; and her three great-grandchildren, Charles Dakota Cloos, Micah Sherman Marquez and Molly Kiwanda Marquez. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and her dog, Katie. She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 55 years and her brother, Chuck Buske.
Cremation will take place and private family services will be held at a later date.
