Kellogg Police Department Roll Call: June 30 - July 7
• K77 and K73 gave out letters to uptown businesses about the two-hour parking on Main Street and McKinley Avenue. Yes, it is still two-hour parking uptown. Just because it’s not enforced all the time does not mean that it’s OK. As business owners, you would think that you would want easy access to your business, guess not. Or better yet when employees (and owners) of one business park in front of another business all day. That’s just rude.
• Responded to a possible vehicle crash on the 100 block of W. Riverside Avenue. Upon my arrival K77 discovered it was a false alarm.
• Dispatched to the 100 block of E. Portland Avenue for a reckless driver. Individual in question refused to answer their door to speak with me. Investigation is still on-going until follow-up is conducted.
• Landline request regarding a dog in the heat. Cleared, public assist.
• Foot patrol E. Portland.
• Unattended juveniles on the 100 block of E. Portland. Cleared, juveniles had a parent with them, the kids were just too loud.
• Assisted K78 with two individuals on Main and McKinley. Cleared, agency assists.
• Traffic stop at Cameron and Hill for an out headlight. Cleared, misdemeanor warrant arrest.
• Citizen contact Hill and Mission with a group of juveniles headed home just before curfew. Cleared, NAT.
• Firework complaint 400 block Maple. Cleared, UTL.
• Foot patrol Kellogg City Park.
• Foot patrol E. Portland.
• Citizen contact at Main and McKinley with two males sitting on a bench. Cleared, just some Pokémon go (yes, that’s still a thing).
• Assisted K79 with traffic stop/misdemeanor warrant arrest Cameron and Hill. Cleared, agency assist.
• Dispatched to disturb the peace 400 block Brown. Cleared, juveniles were verbally warned about making noise prior to 7 a.m.
• Assisted county with a warrant arrest on the 100 block of E. Idaho Avenue.
• Dispatched to the 700 block of McKinley Avenue for a possible battery. Upon arrival it was discovered that no battery had taken place.
• Patrols Teeter's field while the Army band played.
• Firework complaint on the 10 block of Maple. Cleared, UTL.
• Dispatched to fire work complaint 300 block Maple. Anonymous RP says it was 318 Maple, homeowner was waiting on the porch said it wasn't them, but it was 310. People at 310 said it was 308 and the guy at 308 said he doesn't know who it was, but it definitely wasn't him. 318, 310, 308 were all verbally warned against aerial fireworks.
• Foot patrol, Kellogg City Park.
• Dispatched to domestic at 200 block Flume. Cleared, parties separated for the night, report taken.
• Called back to the domestic at 200 block Flume. Cleared, parties separated AGAIN…
• Assisted county with locating a possible 8004 driver in Kellogg. Cleared, other agency assist.
• Conducted a welfare check on the 600 block of Bunker Avenue. Spoke with individual in question and provided transportation to Shoshone Medical Center for treatment.
• Dispatched to the old IGA parking lot for squatters setting up camp. Steel Reserve Man and his new companion were evicted from the area.
• Traffic stop at I-90 at Exit 49 (offense Hill and W. Cameron) citation for distracted driving and driving without privileges.
• Traffic stop at 400 block W. Brown, verbal warning to juvenile on a dirt bike (not the same one K78 has been having issues with) for a multitude of issues (fail to purchase dl/operate mv without registration/no insurance, etc). Turned over to parent and advised no longer allowed off-road vehicle access through town.
• Traffic stop at 400 block W. Mullan, two citations to two persons — 1) Juvenile with no driver's license, 2) Parent for allowing unauthorized person to operate a motor vehicle.
• Verbal warning given to pizza delivery driver for leaving vehicle in the middle of the road, intersection of W. Mission and W. Riverside…delivery took longer than they were expecting.
• Traffic stop at Bunker and Jacobs Gulch, citation for studded tires out of season, verbal for vehicle registration.
• Completed Performance Verification for the Lifeloc for the month of July.
• Dispatched to Brown for aerial Firework complaint. Cleared, UTL.
• Assisted K74 with traffic stop 300 block Brown. Cleared, agency assist.
• Welfare check 100 block East Portland. Cleared, individual was code 4.
• Assisted K75 with a detox hold for Steel Reserve Man. Cleared, agency assist.
• Assisted K75 with a fireworks call 600 block N. Division. Cleared, agency assist.
• Placed a dog in the pound from county.
• Released a dog from the pound.
• Assisted K75 with a noise complaint 100 block E. Portland. Cleared, agency assist.
• Assisted K75 with a detox hold for Steel Reserve Man. Cleared, agency assist.
• Assisted K75 with a fireworks call 600 block N. Division. Cleared, agency assist.
• Placed a dog in the pound from county.
• Released a dog from the pound.
• Assisted K75 with a noise complaint 100 block E. Portland. Cleared, agency assist.
• Suspicious person under Hill Street underpass. Detox hold, Steel Reserve.
• Citizen contact at furniture store, contacted, cleared Misdemeanor arrest.
• Citizen Contact E. Idaho, someone turning on heat in house. Cleared, NAT.
• Dispatched to the 100 block of Presley Avenue for general questions regarding fireworks. Cleared, public assist.
• K77 played hide and seek with his keys.
• Conducted traffic control on the Fourth of July parade.
• Multitude of firework complaints. Spoke with loads of people and for the most part, everyone got the hint after the warning. One did not on Station Avenue in the 200 block, so they received a citation, as well as had (most) of their fireworks seized. Once K74 made it back up to the office, they continued shooting off more, oncoming shift went to investigate.
• Foot patrols at Silver Mountain/Bunker Avenue/Mission Avenue/Hill Street/Elder/North/Vergobbi/Mullan.
• Fireworks complaint at 400 block W. Brown, contact made with reporting parties as well as suspect. Reporting parties did not want to sign citation at this time, verbal warning given.
• Unwanted subject(s) at Shoshone Medical Center. Was able to talk the persons into waiting in the parking lot and got them out of the Hospital without further incident. Peace restored.
• Foot patrols.
• Firework complaints.
• Traffic stop at McKinley and Hill Fail to stop at stop sign, Cleared, verbal.
• Lost pet calls, Cleared, ATL.
• Fight call at Dirty Dog. Cleared, detox hold.
• Assisted county with a motor home pulling a jeep. The jeep had a flat tire and was throwing sparks, this was causing fires along the freeway. Cleared, as vehicle was stopped before driving arriving to Kellogg.
• Assisted fire with brush fire 300 block E. Idaho, cause is from vehicle engine parked on a mound of grass. Other agency assist.
• 200 block of Flume and McKinley for a car alarm continuously going off. Unable to locate owner (out of state) or any contact information. Checked nearby apartments/condos/businesses and was unable to locate owner.
• Unwanted subject at 200 block W. Cameron, subject was trespassed per management request. Verbal warning.
• Citizen contact at W. Idaho. Heat thief, Cleared NAT "Same person."
• Dog bite on McKinley Avenue. Owner of the dog and victim exchanged information. Dog was not running at large as it was inside a condo hallway.
• Station call about a dog at the Shoshone apartments being aggressive toward other residents. Advised to work with management of the building.
• Called to a possible animal neglect on S. Division. No one was home. Dogs inside home. No signs of neglect at this time.
• Patrolled.
• Blight complaint 10 block W. Mission, overgrown weeds in the alley. Contact was made with residents (juveniles) and will need to follow-up at a later time to speak with adult. Once adult is there, warning notice will be given for 10-day follow-up.
• Parking ticket x2 issued in front of 411 Bunker Ave, both vehicles expired registration and both in yellow at curb within 20 feet of crosswalk.
• Malicious injury to property at 600 block of Bunker Avenue. Scratches on a vehicle with what appears to have been attempted writing. Report taken.
• Traffic complaint at I-90 exited into Kellogg. Speeding vehicle going approximately 120mph. Reporting party followed into SMC parking lot. Contact was made and county took over as incident occurred out in the Cataldo area. Initial vehicle was transporting child to hospital.
• Suspicious circumstance male outside of a business for over an hour on the 100 block of E. Cameron. Cleared, individuals car just overheated.
• Assisted county with locating a speeding car from I-90. Cleared, other agency assist.
• Welfare check on the 400 block of W. Mission. Cleared, subject was code 4.
• Motorist assist at I-90 Exit 49, Vehicle pulled off on the dirt, made contact to see if everything was okay, stated he just needed to get off to stretch. Cleared, public assist "also got to pet a dog."
• Citizen contact, Bench near Station and Division, Person was laying on bench in a weird manner, made contact person was code 4, Cleared, public assist.
• Motorist assist at I-90 exit to Division Street, Person ran out of gas said someone was coming back to help her, cleared public assist.
• Assisted K79 with Welfare check on 400 block of Mission, made contact with person she was code 4. Cleared, agency assist.
• Welfare check at 800 block of W. Cameron. Elderly male sitting in the shade with a walker. After speaking with the subject, they requested a ride to Wal-Mart so it would be easier to ask someone for a ride, rather than hitch-hike on the Interstate. Courtesy ride provided.
• Citizen contact regarding questions about the 400 block of W. Brown, motorcycle causing issues. Advised to call when this is taking place.
• Citizen contact regarding questions about directions to the Transfer Station, directions provided.
• Public assist transported from Walmart to the FairBridge Inn. Cleared, public assist.
• Commercial burglary alarm on the 800 block of W. Cameron. Cleared, building was secure.
• Assisted K78 with an Intoxicated Male. Cleared, agency assist.
• Assisted K78 with a hit and run on the 300 block of McKinley. Cleared, agency assist.
• Dispatched to a commercial business alarm at the gondolier. Cleared, building checked and secured false alarm.
• Unsecured door 10 block of Hill. Cleared, building checked and secured.
• Called to Steel Reserve being Steel Reserve near the old Cat Tails store. A bike was parked next to a stand that said “free.” Well, the bike was not part of the "free stuff" and Steel Reserve didn't quite understand that.
• Dispatched to a 911 call 200 block W. Cameron. Cleared, individual requested medical and was transported to Shoshone Medical Center. Steel Reserve called us which is new. Too much Steel Reserve and not enough water.
• 911 hang-up at the Trail Motel. It was the clerk trying to call for a guest that was requesting medical. Cleared, other agency assist.
