WALLACE –– On July 20, 2021, Shoshone County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shots fired call in the area of King Street, Wallace, Idaho.

Upon arrival, they located an adult male who was brandishing two firearms after having shot into his parents’ occupied residence.

Sheriff’s Office personnel were on scene and gave multiple commands for the male to relinquish his firearms, and after failing to do so multiple times, the male pointed his firearms at the Sheriff and moved forward in his direction.

At that time, he was shot by another deputy on scene and after aid was rendered, he was transported for further medical treatment.

The North Idaho Critical Incident Task Force consisting of members from the Idaho State Police, Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and the Coeur d’Alene Police Department responded to conduct the investigation.

We would also like to extend our appreciation to the Osburn Police Department and Idaho Department of Lands for their assistance as well.

At this time the names of the officers involved are not being released, and the current condition of the adult male suspect involved is not available.

We will continue to update you as information can be released and the investigation develops.
