Shawn Brandt, 50

| July 26, 2021 11:00 AM

Beloved father and friend, Shawn Brandt, 50, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away July 7, 2021. Shawn was born on April 3, 1971; the son of Clinton and Donna (Salyer) Brandt.

Shawn was born in Kellogg, Idaho, and also attended school in Kellogg during his younger years. He later attended school in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, through Project CDA, then later earned his GED.

While residing in Kellogg at the time of passing, Shawn, throughout his life, lived in Coeur d’Alene, Rathdrum, Kellogg and surrounding areas. No matter the town, in beautiful North Idaho is where he called home.

Always a very hard worker, Shawn did many various types of construction throughout his life. Although, concrete was his work of choice.

Shawn was a wonderful man and was always there to lend a helping hand. He was very loud and outgoing with an unforgettable laugh that was infectious. He was nowhere near perfect, and never claimed to be, but he tried his hardest at everything he did. He always tried to better himself, both for him, and for the people around him. He loved his children more than anything and would always do anything and everything for them. Shawn was just an over-all kind hearted, sensitive, caring guy with a tough exterior.

Shawn enjoyed being outdoors, building things, riding his motorcycle, and spending time making memories with his family and loved ones, especially his children.

Shawn attended church at The Assembly of God Church in Kellogg. As a man of faith, he didn’t just attend church, he also helped facilitate the Celebrate Recovery program that met at the church as well. It was important to Shawn to help others in their time of need.

Shawn was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton Brandt and Donna Wilson; and nephew Joshua Brandt. He is survived by his daughters, Breana Brandt of Coeur d’Alene, Justina Walker of Post Falls, Idaho, and Faith Brandt of Spokane, Wash.; his son, Braden Brandt of Coeur d’Alene; brother Shane Brandt and sister-in-law Tracy Brandt of Coeur d’Alene; his brother, Shannon Brandt and sister-in-law Stephanie Brandt of Kellogg; his grandmother, Geneva Celia Evans of Kellogg; his aunt, Opal Salyer of Kellogg; three nieces, five nephews and many grandchildren.

Shawn’s service will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021, at Real Life Ministries in Coeur d'Alene. All are welcome to attend.
