Beth Williams, 86

Beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Beth Williams, 86, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away May 27, 2021, at Mountain Valley of Cascadia in Kellogg. She was born July 16, 1934, in Kellogg. Beth was the daughter of Albert and Mary (Grenfell) Derbyshire.

Beth attended and graduated from Kellogg High School in 1953. She has lived in the Silver Valley all of her life.

Beth was united in marriage to Ray A. Williams in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Ray passed away on Feb. 12, 1980.

Beth was a homemaker and raised seven children. She had also served as a dietician at the West Shoshone Hospital (now called Shoshone Medical Center) in Kellogg for many years.

Beth was a very devoted Campfire leader and Boy Scout leader. She was a member of the United Church of Kellogg and had also served as a Sunday School teacher; she was also a member of the PTA and the NABA Lodge.

Beth loved and enjoyed her family, cooking, canning and sewing.

Beth is survived by six children, Kathleen (Robert) Harper of Wallace, Rebecca Hiatt of Kellogg, Walter (Marsha) Williams of Pullman, Wash., Keith (Leslie) Williams of Spokane, Wash., Karen (Robert) McCoy of Post Falls, Idaho, and Lief (Melissa) Williams of Rathdrum, Idaho; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jack Derbyshire of Oregon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Beth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Williams; one son, Jonthan Williams and a son-in-law, Gary Hiatt.

Memorial services will be held and announced at a later date.

Beth was a remarkable woman, she touched and loved everyone with all of her heart and might; she also touched many young people with her strong beliefs and teachings of honesty and integrity. Beth was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
