Kellogg Police Department Roll Call: June 9-16

by SGT. PAUL TWIDT/Kellogg Police Department
| June 17, 2021 3:51 PM

• Animal complaint on Mullan Avenue. K90 was contacted and asked to check on some dogs possibly left behind after a renter had moved out by the owner of the property. What K90 found was 85 dogs and 10 cats inside the home. Kellogg Animal control (K90), Shoshone Pet Rescue, Silver Valley Cat Wranglers, some very helpful neighbors, and volunteers were able to remove the dogs; along with 10 cats from the home and place them in crates. This took about six hours and lots of crates to complete. Kellogg Pet Medical was also a huge help as they housed (and are still housing) the animals needing medical care. Shoshone Pet Rescue contacted Kootenai Humane Society and they agreed to take the majority of the animals. Kellogg Animal Control, with Shoshone Pet Rescue following, transported 66 of the dogs with a truck and horse trailer to the Kootenai Humane Society. Once at Kootenai Humane Society, they helped process the dogs for intake. The rest of the story is all over the internet. Thank you to all who were involved in helping saving these animals.
