KELLOGG — Guess who’s back? Back again … The Silver Valley Community Market is back! Tell your friends.

Those might not be the exact words to that song, but nevertheless it’s time to celebrate the return of the popular outdoor market inside Kellogg's City Park.

The Silver Valley Community Market made its grand return on Thursday night to much fanfare and community engagement and event organizers are eager to see how much it grows throughout the season.

“The market went great,” Market Committee member Sarah Murphy said on Thursday evening.

She was exceptionally pleased to sign up four new vendors during the evening — which means the event will be even bigger next week.

The Market has moved to a new location every year since its inception, but Murphy believes that the slight adjustment from right next to the baseball field to west of the pool will be one that market visitors and vendors alike will appreciate.

“Our team made some awesome decisions this year, including moving the market to a shadier location that has a concrete path through the middle of it,” Murphy said. “It made set-up a lot easier for the vendors and helped direct traffic.”

Each week the Market will feature a different musical act — sponsored by a local business and will have the popular beer garden for guests to enjoy.

“It was just so nice to see and experience a sense of community again,” Murphy said. “We were able to interact with one another and celebrate commingling once again.”

Murphy also mentioned that she would love to see some food vendors sign up as that was really the only thing missing from the season’s opening weekend.

The Silver Valley Community Market will run every Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. through Aug. 19.
