Fire danger raised to High

| June 29, 2021 7:00 AM

The Shoshone County Fire Chief’s Association (SCFCA), which includes members from all local fire departments and wildland fire agencies, have determined it is time to move the fire danger to High and stop issuing burn permits for the local area: effective June 30, 2021.

The move to High fire danger does not impact or prohibit responsible recreational campfires. Please remember you should never leave them unattended. To ensure your fire is DEAD OUT, remember to drown, stir and repeat until your fire is cool to the touch.

Fireworks, of any type, are NOT allowed on any forested land (private, industrial, state or federal) in Idaho during closed fire season, May 10 through October 20, as per Idaho Code, 38-117.

Shoshone Chiefs would like to thank you for doing your part to prevent fires thus far this season. As conditions continue to dry out please give firefighters a hand by being careful with all fire, checking your smoke alarms, fire extinquishers, exhaust systems and being responsible while you enjoy the outdoors. Report wildfires by calling 911.
