Kindergartners! Round Up!

Parents of little ones should mark their calendars as both Silver Hills Elementary School and Pinehurst Elementary School have set the dates for their kindergarten roundups.

For students in the Wallace School District, to be registered for Kindergarten parents will need to bring their child’s birth certificate and immunization records.

Incoming students must be 5 years old at the time of Sept. 1, 2021.

“Registration will be done in the kindergarten classrooms,” according to SHES secretary Pam Hinsz. “You can enter the east end of the building where the two classrooms are located.”

Masks will be required to enter the building for registration.

Silver Hills Elementary School Kindergarten Roundup is Friday, May 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For parents of students in the Kellogg School District, the requirements for registration are similar, but a little more specific.

Parents must provide a copy of the birth certificate, as well as the immunization records — which will need to include five or more doses of the DTP vaccine (with the fifth dose coming after age 4), four or more doses of TOPV vaccine (with the fourth dose coming after age 4), two or more doses of the MMR vaccine, three doses of the Hepatitis B vaccine, two doses of the Hepatitis A vaccine, and two doses of Varicella vaccine.

Students who don’t have the required immunizations by Sept. 3, 2021, will not be allowed to attend school until they have received the proper vaccinations.

Incoming students must be 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2021.

“Kindergarten teachers will be available to answer your questions regarding the kindergarten year,” said PES Kindergarten Teacher Claire Lavigne. “Children will be invited to visit the classroom and Summer Reading Program information will be available.”

Pinehurst Elementary School will host the KSD’s Kindergarten Roundup on Wednesday, May 12, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Kindergarten students at PES will not have school this day.
