OSBURN — Alex Drake struck out seven on the mound and drove in three at the plate for the Tigers in the opening game of an Intermountain League doubleheader against the Wildcats at Morehouse Field. Caden Robinett and Kenny Wells drove in two runs each in the opener for Timberlake.

Brody Hoffman singled with two outs in the fourth inning for Kellogg’s lone hit in the first game. In the nightcap, Logan Jerome homered leading off the bottom of the third inning, then hit a three-run shot in the fifth as the Wildcats fought back for the split.

KELLOGG — Logan Walsh homered in both games and Peyton Lindley hit a grand slam in the nightcap as the Intermountain League champion Tigers swept the Wildcats in the regular-season finale at Kellogg Middle School.

Walsh went 3 for 6 in the opener for Timberlake (19-3, 12-0 IML), including a tworun homer in a 19-run second inning, and finished with four RBIs and two runs scored. Bernie Carhart and Lacey Peterson each drove in four runs for the Tigers.

In the second game, Lindley hit a grand slam in a 10-run third inning, and finished 3 for 4 with six RBIs and three runs scored. Walsh hit a three-run homer in a 12-run first inning, and went 3 for 5 with three runs and three RBIs. For the day, she was 6 for 11 with two homers, seven RBIs and five runs scored.

Ashley Grantham went 3 for 4 with three RBIs and four runs in the second game, and Lily Carhart was 3 for 6 with three RBIs and three runs scored.

“Olivia Glemser hit her first varsity homer (in the second game); that was pretty cool,” Timberlake coach Casi Lupinacci said.

In its 12 league games, Timberlake outscored its opponents 261-8.

Coeur d’Alene’s boys shot a 323, 10 strokes ahead of Post Falls with a 333. The Viking girls edged Sandpoint 376-378.

Moscow’s Bryden Brown was boys medalist with a 71.

Bonners Ferry’s Braylyn Bayer was girls medalist with an 81.

St. Maries junior Hope Aasgard won a card-off for girls medalist, after tying with teammates Sami Sindt and Gabrial Harold with a 100.
