Bertha Nancy Davis, 89

Bertha Nancy Davis, 89, lifelong resident of Mullan, Idaho, passed away May 8, 2021, at Good Samaritan Society — Silver Wood Village in Silverton, Idaho. Bertha was born on Sept. 4, 1931, in Mullan, the daughter of the late Fred Krause and Ella Bretches Krause.

Bertha attended school in Mullan and on Oct. 30, 1950. She married Reed “Shorty” Davis in Superior, Mont.

Bertha was a homemaker and was a baby sitter to numerous Mullan children as they grew up. She loved to read, garden, pick huckleberries, play cards and bingo, and was also known to scratch off a few lottery tickets. Bertha was a member of the Wallace Eagles, where she was an officer for many years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Reed; her son, Larry Davis; her significant other, Tony Arellano; as well as four sisters and four brothers.

Survivors include her brother, Robert Krause of Longview, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Bette Krause, of Silverton; and numerous nieces and nephews, including David Autio of Mullan and Louella Irvine of Pinehurst, Idaho.

Bertha’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the nurses and staff at Good Samaritan Society — Silver Wood Village for their exceptional care over the years.

A graveside service will be held later this summer at the Mullan Cemetery.
