Cataldo Water District Board of Directors candidate: Derek Jarvey

| May 13, 2021 12:49 PM

Derek Michael Jarvey, 34, is running for one of two open Cataldo Water District Board of Directors positions and, if elected, his top priority will be providing the best care quality of water and also help keep costs down.

Jarvey went to Kellogg High School in 2005 and then the University of Idaho. While there, he studied drinking water and currently holds a "treatment 2" and "distribution 1" license from the State of Idaho.

His wife, Kristin, also a Kellogg graduate, works at a dental office in Kellogg. Together, they have two children — one attending North Idaho College and the other at Pinehurst Elementary.

Jarvey states that he has specialized in drinking water for 12 years and has operated/helped design water treatment facilities in the past. He has also sat on the Kingston Water District Board for 7 years.

In addition to his water specific experience, Jarvey is OSHA 30 certified, a Nuclear Radiation Safety Officer, and has managed as a Site Safety and Health Officer.

"I hold many certifications and continue to take classes to further my education," he said. "With my education and experience in water and in safety, I would be a huge asset to the Water Board and help with future growth and change."
