Kellogg Police Department Roll Call: May 12-19

• As most of you already know, K75 (AKA huddyurbuddy) has decided to leave the Kellogg Police Department so he can spend more time with his family (work normal person hours). Over the last 20 years, I have seen many officers come and go. Some I miss and some… not so much. K75 will be missed for sure, as he was definitely one of the good ones and it was an honor to work next to him. On the brighter side, now someone else can win the favorite cop thing in the News-Press. Who am I kidding, he will probably still win.

• Dispatched to civil issues 100 block W. Mullan. Cleared, Chief had already handled the situation earlier.

• Landline for Forest Service. Cleared, other agency assist.

• Found property delivered to the Kellogg Police Department but was found in the county. Cleared, county has been notified.

• Placed a dog in the pound that was found at Kellogg Funeral Home.

• VIN inspection 10 block W. Market. Cleared, VIN inspected (looks good).

• Dispatched to a juvenile driving a dirt bike at a high rate of speed on Diamond Street. Cleared, UTL.

• Landline from Shoshone pet rescue regarding the dog K78 placed in the pound. Cleared, other agency assist.

• Words from the Chief: "Well, it’s that time of year again where we have to remind some of our good citizens that they have to mow their yards. So be on the lookout for over grow weeds and grass."

• 100 block of Mullan Avenue. Assist with move out order.

• Landline to Kellogg Middle School regarding possible found contraband. Cleared, report taken.

• Called to 10 block W. Cameron for an unwanted subject. Cleared, individual trespassed.

• Civil stand-bye 10 block W. Cameron. Cleared, public assist.

• Called to possible Runaway 300 block E. Portland. Cleared, not a runaway, report taken.

• Traffic stop under the Division underpass for crossing yellow line. Cleared, verbal.

• Landline regarding K79's barking dog complaint from last night. Cleared, will pass the info along.

• Dispatched to an individual walking into traffic 400 block of E. Cameron. Cleared, Unfounded.

• Parade day.

• Placed a dog in the pound from Fish and Game.

• Kellogg Elks Parade.

• Traffic stop at 2000 block McKinley, verbal warning for speed.

• Traffic stop at Hill and W. Cameron, citation for speed 43/25.

• Traffic stop at Railroad and Hill, verbal for wrong way on One Way (small section of Bunker into Legion area that is signed … One Way).

• Attempt to locate possible heroin overdose that left the Wallace area in a black Chevy truck. Unable to Locate.

• Disturbance on the 100 block of Riverside. Cleared, everything was code 4. The disturbance was when momma bear came home and found a bunch of teenagers at her house that were not hers. The momma bear then started yelling and kicking everyone out. Cleared, NAT.

• Traffic stop on Riverside and Oregon for speed. Cleared, verbal.

• Traffic stop on Hill and McKinley for speed. Cleared, verbal.

• Courtesy transport for an adult male to Smelterville. Cleared, public assist.

• Dispatched to the 600 block of Bunker Avenue for disturbing the peace. After numerous attempts, individual in question refused to speak with law enforcement (answer the door). However, K77 thinks they got the point because they quieted down after K77 arrived.

• Dispatched to 911 hang up 600 block Bunker Avenue. Cleared, all occupants code 4.

• Foot patrol Kellogg City Park.

• Citizen contact at the Kellogg Police Department for information about Shoshone Pet Rescue.

• Citizen contact at the Kellogg Police Department. Subject wanted to advise of vehicle that broke down in the 3000 block McKinley Avenue. Cannot get a tow until the morning after waiting several hours for their insurance company to contact and state the original tow canceled. Left contact information in the event the vehicle needs to be moved sooner. Not a hazard and information passed along to night shift in the event contact is needed.

• Report of a driver slumped over the wheel on I-90 near milepost 50 in a green van. Medical and county cleared, Unable to Locate prior to arrival. Checked the area in the event that the vehicle pulled off the interstate. Unable to Locate.

• Conducted a traffic stop on the 100 block of W. Cameron Avenue. Gave a verbal warning for an equipment violation. Individual's vehicle decided to not function properly afterwards so K77 provided transport for the individual back to their residence.

• Conducted foot patrol on W. Cameron Avenue, Hill Street and Bunker Avenue.

• Tagged four vehicles for tow. One on Caledonia and the others on E. Portland Avenue.

• Traffic stop at Chestnut and W. Mullan, spoke with two youths about riding a four-wheeler without a license and without headgear. They were close to home, so they pushed it the rest of the way. Verbal warning.

• Conducted a traffic stop on the 900 block of McKinley Avenue. Driver was later arrested for DUI and possession of a controlled substance.

• Kellogg Middle School lock down drill. All went well.

• Possible harassment (location all over). After speaking with subject, the person they are reporting on is living with them … not an issue of constant harassment, but rather wanting to be left alone. Advised to move separately and change numbers/contact/block socials, etc., then the possibility of stalking could be looked into. Advised they had already applied for protection order and was denied for the same reasons. Advised of making the changes, then looking to proceed. Public assist.

• Extra patrols requested for possible vandalism. See below for location/information.

• Motorist assist on Second and W. Mill, subject believed to be distraught inside a vehicle. Subject was fine, waiting on a friend.

• Traffic complaint at 300 block W. Mission. Motorcyclist speeding through the area for the last several weeks, white sport bike. Unable to locate, extra patrols conducted.

• Found dog on Hill Street next to Teeter's Field. Small black and tan Chihuahua taken to the pound.

• Animal complaint at 600 block of Bunker, tan dog running around A Building at Silver Mountain. Unable to Locate.

• Foot patrol on Bunker Avenue and W. Cameron Avenue.

• Conducted a traffic stop on the 900 block of W. Cameron Avenue. Gave a verbal warning for an equipment violation.

• Handled a landline request regarding an animal complaint. Incident was taking place in Cataldo so the reporting party was referred to another agency.

• School radar patrol on Bunker Avenue.

• Report of a vehicle that had its back window busted out the night before on Main Street. Report taken.

• Towed vehicle from E. Portland Avenue. Black Saturn with no plates and awesome spray-painted tires and wheels.

• Checked on blight on Kellogg Avenue. Yard was moved, no further action needed.

• Fraud case on S. Division. Check forged for a larger amount than originally written for. Statement forms left with victim and waiting of bank statements.

• Harassment on 100 Block of McKinley Avenue. Two adults calling each other names (not very nice names I might add) like grade school kids. Cleared, as I put them in a time out until they agreed to stop the name calling.

• Motorist assist at E. Riverside and Division, vehicle parked in no parking zone with hazards flashing. They were not in need of assistance, but were looking for a vehicle to buy. Directed them to a parking lot, public assist.

• Parking issue Elder and Helen, has person move their vehicle out of the roadway. Verbal warning.

• Tagged a vehicle for removal in the 300 block of Maple, attempted contact with titled owner, no longer lives at address given.

• Traffic stop at W. Cameron Avenue and Price. Verbal warning for parking in no parking zone.

• Agency assist with traffic stop/complaint in McDonald's parking lot. Vehicle inattentive driving on I-90 milepost 48.5. Turned over to county with other party signing citation.

• Landline request for subject with questions, phone number given on voicemail was that of Kellogg Police Department. Address was left on voicemail as well. Went to location and subject did not want to talk with me.

• Returned property from evidence to owner.

• Possible suicidal subject/attempt in the 300 block W. Cameron Avenue. Address given is a vacant home that is pad-locked from the outside. Spoke with neighbors and other blocks and unable to locate. No in-house information for subject per dispatch. Unable to Locate.

• Possible unlawful entry on the 700 block of Caledonia. Cleared, everything was code 4, it was just the homeowners.

• K77 was dispatched to the 200 block of W. Cameron Avenue for a report of an out-of-control barbecue fire. Reporting party was concerned it was going to catch the building on fire. The steak party did not appear out of control during K77’s “steak” out as he discovered the barbecue was placed well away from the building, as to not be a concern and it was also being monitored by The Swedish Chef… "Bork, bork, bork!"…
