Margery 'Marge' June Lewis, 84
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister-in-law and friend, Margery “Marge” June Lewis, 84, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away May 19, 2021, at Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg. She was born June 26, 1936, in Kellogg. Marge was the daughter of Heinrich “Hank” and Wilhelmina “Mina” (Bliesner) Dorendorf. At the young age of 12, Marge lost her parents, and was raised by her cousin and husband, Viola and Henry Roberts.
Marge has lived in the Silver Valley all of her life and attended and graduated from the Kellogg High School in 1955.
Marge was united in marriage to Dale Lewis on Sept. 21, 1957, in Kellogg. Dale passed away Oct. 1, 2009.
Marge had first worked at the Liberty Theatre, then the Rena Theatre in Kellogg. She had also served as a bank teller at the Idaho First National Bank. Marge then served as office manager for the Washington Water Power Company, later becoming Avista Utilities, for 42 years. Marge was very loved and active within her community; she was a member of the Avista Trail Blazers for 52 years, a member of the Grandmothers Club, NABA, the Guard Club, the Kellogg Lady Elks, the Good Grief Club of Hospice of North Idaho, the Good Sam RV Club, the Westway Club and the Red Hat Ladies. She had also served on the Staff House Museum board and the Senior Center Board. But most importantly to Marge, she was a wonderful member of the American Lutheran Church in Kellogg — her parents were instrumental in establishing this church; Marge was one of the last original members, being a member for 84 years.
Marge loved and enjoyed her children and grandchildren, in earlier years camping and fishing with Dale and family, cookbooks and cooking, meals with family, traveling, canning, playing cards and collecting pig figurines with an attitude.
Marge is survived by her children, Tamie Eberhard of Pinehurst, Idaho, Teresa (Bill) Orton of Wallace, Idaho, Lori (John) McCurry of Winnemucca, Nev., and Wendi Lewis of Pinehurst; six grandchildren, Troy Nickelby, Ashley Stewart, Lindsey Canfield, Kelsey Fry, Eric Fields and Jaime Lewis; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Dorendorf of Mesa, Ariz.
