PINEHURST — The Pinehurst library is thrilled to announce that they have returned back to their normal business hours.

Between the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and some renovations that were being done at the library, the hours had been severely reduced, but with life getting back to normal and the remodel now wrapped up, it was back to business.

“Come in and check out our new remodel and even try the new self-checkout station,” said Brenda Ludwick, library manager. “Let us show you new books, staff favorites, DVDs and a whole digital library for research.”

The library also has PlayAway audiobooks available for checking out, as well as several other special projects that can be checked out.

PlayAways are pre-loaded audiobooks that give readers the portability and freedom to listen to the audiobooks anytime, anywhere, with no need for any sort of internet or data connection.

It’s an incredibly easy way to circulate everything from bestsellers to new releases, all the while promoting literacy.

“If you’re working in your garden then check out a PlayAway audiobook; it fits right into your pocket,” Ludwick said. “We have take-home craft kits for adults and still offer curbside for those who prefer it.”

The library is also getting ready to begin offering their meeting room up for reservations.

The Pinehurst library is open Monday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Pinehurst library is a member of the Community Library Network, and is located at 107 Main St. in Pinehurst.
