Mullan City Council Candidate: Anali Spooner

| October 21, 2021 3:12 PM

Anali Spooner, 34, is running for one of two open Mullan City Council positions and hopes to help keep the city running and looking the way it does already, with possibly some slight improvements.

"We have new asphalt being put in on much needed streets, we have the nicest city park that is kept clean all year-round, and our streets are plowed incredibly well during the winter months," she said. "If elected I would like to see these things continue while also seeing more property clean-ups if possible, as well as more safety for our children — whether that entails more warning signs, street lights, or even speed bump installation to slow down traffic."

Spooner lives in Mullan with her husband, Stetson; and their two children, Walker and McKaye. They also have two black labs, Spud and Rip.

Her education includes graduating from Mullan High School in 2005, then earning her phlebotomy license at North Idaho College. She is currently continuing her education at the University of Idaho, where she had taken classes previously before NIC.

Spooner is passionate about Mullan due to her living there all her life (fourth generation) and now raising a family of her own there as well. While in town, she has served on the Mullan City Public Library board since June 2021.

She believes that the key issues regarding this position include budgeting and ordinances associated with resolutions.

"When I chose to run for City Council, I made that decision with our town’s future in mind," she said. "I would like to be elected to be more involved with our town and use my voice to help make decisions… I will represent our city to the best of my abilities and I look forward to working for each and every one of our residents."
