Mullan City Council Candidate: Joe Wolford
Joe Wolford is a candidate for a position on the City Council of Mullan.
Wolford currently serves as a board member on the city's Planning and Zoning Board, a position he has held for the past five years. Joe retired from Emery Chemicals where he was employed as a stationary engineer. Prior to employment as an engineer, he worked in the construction industry as a master carpenter.
Over the years, Joe has served as a Little League coach, Boy Scout leader, church volunteer etcetera. He also completed, at no cost, all of the drywall work on three of the houses that were built by Habitat For Humanity in the Silver Valley.
Joe resides in Mullan with his wife of 32 years, Patricia. They have one daughter, two sons and four grandchildren. The couple spends a lot of their free time completing renovation and landscaping projects on their 111-year-old cottage.
Believing that the city of Mullan has seen a recent influx of new residents over the past few years, if elected to City Council, Joe would like to devote some attention to reviewing plans for future growth, especially as it relates to infrastructure. A pet project that Wolford would like to pursue is the preservation and restoration of the historic Morning Club.
"The building is in much need of repair after 101 years of continual use by the community," he said.
He believes that a majority of funding will be obtainable through grants from various historical preservation societies.
Wolford says he will continue to serve the citizens of Mullan in an unbiased manner if elected.
