Silver Mountain carries on the trunk or treat tradition
KELLOGG — Silver Mountain is ready to host a spooky good time at its two-day Halloweekend event that will kick off Friday evening and carry into Halloween night.
Saturday’s spooky event comes after Silver Mountain was forced to cancel its much anticipated Halloween festivities last year, but they are ready to give families a weekend that is sure to be a real treat. Guests and community alike are welcome to come join the fun at the gondola village.
Silver Mountain’s mascot, “Mo the Moose,” will be down in the Silver Mountain village welcoming guests starting at 5:30 p.m. Attendees should make sure they come dressed to impress, as judges will be watching and casting votes for the costume contest, which is set to announce winners at 5:45 p.m.
After awarding a winner, kids will then follow Mo on a stroll through the resort grounds for some trick or treating fun.
On Halloween night, kids can collect all their candy in one spot, as Silver Mountain brings back its Trunk or Treat event to its main parking lot.
This will be Silver Mountain's first time hosting the event solo, as they previously had partnered with the Kellogg Police Department and run the event together.
“We wanted to pick up the ball with that just to keep the tradition and make sure there is something going on for Halloween in Kellogg,” said Silver Mountain event coordinator Gus Colburn.
Colburn said that there will be a line of cars for the kids to visit one by one, as well as members from Shoshone County Fire District No. 2 joining in to pass out candy, which Colburn said is always something that kids like to see.
Silver Mountain said it's not too late to add your car to the Trunk or Treat line, and if you are interested in joining, email Gus Colburn at gusc@silvermt.com.
