KELLOGG — Kellogg School District Food Services Director Raymond Lee has announced that the KSD will be offering free lunches to all students residing in the district under the United States Department of Agriculture’s Seamless Summer Option (SSO).

Instead of the usual National School Lunch Program, under the extension of the SSO, every student in the district is eligible for a free breakfast and lunch on the days that school is in session.

This also includes any students who are home schooled as well, and the KSD has a plan where they will be delivering a box of meals for the week for each homeschooled student.

The boxes are for children ages 0-18 who are not attending a brick and mortar school. Each meal box will contain one breakfast and one lunch for each child each day school is in session that week.

Only one box is provided for each child per week and the free meal boxes can be picked up every Friday morning.

While all students are eligible for these meals, Lee asks that parents still fill out the required paperwork that usually accompanies the National School Lunch Program.

“In regards to the Free and Reduced Meal Application, it is not just for free or reduced meals,” Lee explained. “Many other non-food service programs for you and your kids are based on the information gathered from these forms. Please be sure to fill out this important document in your child's registration information so these programs will not be affected in the future.”

Parents with any questions or if further information is needed, the KSD asks that you contact Raymond Lee at 208-784-1348 or at raymond.lee@kelloggschools.org.

Friday morning food box pickups are from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the front doors of Canyon Elementary School, Pinehurst Elementary School, Kellogg Middle School and Kellogg High School.
