Icelandic rock band, Kaleo to take to the Festival stage

| April 1, 2022 12:59 PM

The Festival at Sandpoint 2022 lineup announcements have begun, starting with a bonus concert that will be added to The Festival’s annual summer concert series. The Festival at Sandpoint is pleased to welcome Icelandic rock band, Kaleo to their 2022 Festival lineup. Tickets for Kaleo, performing on Wednesday, Aug. 3, are on sale now.

As the driving creative force behind Kaleo, one of Iceland’s most successful musical exports, JJ Julius Son generally looks forward — to the next recording session, the next gig, and the next source of inspiration. So, when asked to look back, he said he is truly moved by how successful and epic the journey has already been, just one album deep into his career on the international stage.

Since the release of their gold-certified breakthrough album, 2016’s "A/B", Icelandic rock band Kaleo — led by Son, the group's frontman/songwriter — has taken their music around the world. The album spawned three hit singles – the Grammy-nominated “No Good,” the gold-selling “All The Pretty Girls” and the chart-topping, double platinum-certified “Way Down We Go”, which was used in over two dozen television shows from “Grey’s Anatomy” to “Riverdale,” leading the No. 1 single to top The Hollywood Reporter’s Top TV Songs chart. After amassing over 1 billion global streams, 39 international certifications, and countless sold-out headline shows spanning from London to Moscow, Kaleo has proven to be a worldwide phenomenon. Known for their electrifying live performances, Kaleo completely sold out their first U.S. headline tour and was a standout at Coachella, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo and were hand-picked to open stadium dates for the Rolling Stones.

Since Kaleo wrapped a nearly non-stop three-year touring schedule in support of "A/B" in October 2018, Julius Son went into the studio to work on the highly anticipated follow-up, "Surface Sounds" on Elektra/Atlantic.

The Festival at Sandpoint will be announcing their lineup throughout the month of April. Traditionally eight performances in eight days, the 2022 summer concert series will feature 10 concerts in nine days.

The general admission tickets for Kaleo are $54.95 (before fees and taxes) and are available online at festivalatsandpoint.com. The gates open at 6 p.m. and music begins at 7 p.m. For information and tickets, please visit www.festivalatsandpoint.com or email info@festivalatsandpoint.com
