Kellogg Police Department Roll Call: March 30 - April 6

by SGT. PAUL TWIDT/Kellogg Police Department
| April 7, 2022 9:32 AM

• As you can see, the Roll Call holdout of 2022 has ended. K78’s .5 finally baked us some cookies. #1RRFan was getting concerned.

• Disturbance at SMC, combative patient. Patient was calm and back in the room upon arrival. No further action needed (this was a protective custody hold from the county).

• Called back down to SMC for same patient, county handled as SMC was requesting full-time guard for subject to be moved to the floor.

• Fire alarm at 600 block Bunker — FairBridge for water flow alarm. Pipe burst or broke in the ceiling above the pool. Assist fire dept.

• Unwanted subject at 100 block E. Cameron in the alley behind Broken Wheel, subject asking for/bothering tenants and/or customers. Contact made with subject and told to leave without issue.

• Citizen contact in the Silver Mountain parking lot for a male who appears to be going through several vehicles. Contacted the male who stated he was an employee of the SM. Cleared, NAT.

• Courtesy transport one adult female (intoxicated) from Bunker and Hill to 600 block Bunker Avenue. The lady was having trouble returning to Silver Mountain walking back from the bar…she was in the Yoke's parking lot acting suspicious, turns out she didn't realize I was a cop (probably from being pirate eye drunk). I gave her a courtesy transport to her RV parked at Silver parking lot. Clear, public assist.

• Disorderly conduct at Cameron Conoco. Upon arrival, spoke with staff that said potential customer was yelling as they were told to come in and pre-pay rather than having the pump automatically turned on. They left before K74 arrived. K74 attempted to locate without success. Unable to locate.

• Silver Mountain call for unlawful pool party. Violators were escorted back to their rooms. Cleared, verbal.

• Attempted to catch two dogs running around in the park around midnight. They refused to follow my commands and dog treats didn't work either. Cleared, suspects still at large.

• Received a landline request from a sweet older lady that wanted to talk to the homicide detectives at the Kellogg Police Department. Now the lady had a thick southern accent and was hard for me to understand, as I'm sure I was for her to understand me. She told me that her son wanted her to call KPD homicide and tell us to call him in prison. Now just to get to this point of the conversation was about 10 minutes. After another 5 minutes, I was able to get her son's name (never the correct spelling though). Then I asked what prison her son was in and she told me Cooper St. Confused, I asked her is that in Kuna/Boise, Idaho? She responded with "Idaho? what the h@## would my boy be doing in Idaho?" He is in Michigan. I then asked, are you sure you are looking for the Kellogg Police Department in Kellogg, Idaho? Now I'm not sure exactly what she said to me before she abruptly hung up but I'm sure it was very nice.

• Disturbance at Silver Mountain. The clerk stated that a lady appeared to be intoxicated and was she was yelling at her phone when a front desk employee confronted her. The drunk lady did not like that and threatened to beat her up. K78 looked all over Silver Mountain but was unable to find her.

• As soon as K76 was clearing threats call at Silver Mountain, K76 had an employee notify him that a hot tub and bathroom had been damaged by some people. While looking on the cameras, there was another group, not related to the first vandalism, that was damaging things in another building and hot tub. After lots of tracking down using the camera system, all parties were contacted and parents were called.

• Unlawful entry 200 block of Flume Street, a highly intoxicated male walked into an apartment that was not his after the residence opened the door. The male had sustained a head injury and was covered in blood…due to a fall prior to arriving at the apartment and not from the home owner. EMS transported the male to SMC.

• Landline regarding landlord/tenant questions, referred to the Attorney General's office online handbook. Explained that a majority of the issues are civil in nature and not criminal and it was difficult to answer "what if" questions accurately.

• Stocking call on Howard Street. An apple tracking devise was placed in a car. After asking some questions it was found out that it was placed in the car several months ago in Post Falls. Cleared, referred to other agency.

700 block Bunker Avenue, juvenile disturbance. Reports of juveniles throwing a frisbee in the parking lot and hit a vehicle. Spoke with juveniles and parent of juvenile, they showed the vehicle that was struck and no damage was visible. Attempted contact with vehicle owner (no answer). Parent has contact information for owner of vehicle and will be in contact to see if any damage needs to be repaired. This was accidental and not on purpose, no report taken.

• Landline request about inappropriate text messages between cousins. Cleared, NAT.

• Dispatched to two females that felt like they were being followed by a SUV while walking home for the golden arches. Made contact with them and made sure they made it home safe while looking for said SUV. Negative contact with SUV.

• Assist Shoshone Pet Rescue at the pound, one of the dogs managed to climb on top of the outer kennel and could not get down. Luckily K71 was available as K74 would not have been tall enough to get the dog even with the use of the ladder (T-Rex arms). Dog was safely returned to a different kennel.

• Fire call next to the freeway. Looks like the homeless camp is back up and running.

• Fight in progress at the Broken Wheel. Assisted K76 get through all the drama. Cleared, assist.

• Disturbance at Silver Mountain multiple call stating someone was screaming for help in one of the rooms large amount of blood was found on the walls and door of the room. Male was arrested for kidnapping, battery, unlawful entry, and mal injury.

• Landline regarding civil issues in the 300 block of E. Cameron. One party is down in Arizona and stored items in a shed. When the items were placed in the shed and/or moved out, the fragile items were placed on bottom and heavier items on top causing damage, advised this would be civil.

• Public assist, female stating something about a missing vehicle in the 300 block of E. Idaho. Turns out she was requesting a ride to Smelterville. Had a deputy transport her home and do a welfare check at the residence.

• Disturbance at Silver Mountain report of a male taking photos of the girls in the hot tub. Don't be a creep around the hot tubs or you will be kicked out of the property. Cleared, NAT.

• Called to Cameron Avenue for landlord/tenant issues again. Seems tenant was upset because the power was turned off/breaker tripped again. Said tenant went over to the other side and started banging on the door quite vigorously, this made the landlord upset before he ever opened the door. They exchanged their normal pleasantries and then decided to step into each other with a chest bump. Well, the smaller of the two was knocked off balance and fell backwards over some of the junk laying around the side door. Tenant wants to press charges for battery. Cleared, report taken for PA review.

• Apparently running two heaters (one in bullpen, the other in the hallway) at the same time as you receive a fax is a little too much for the ol' electrical system…breaker blew while receiving a fax three times… before I realized I should turn off some heaters before having SCSO re fax for the 4th time…just FYI.

• Assisted county with a roll over crash at mp 52. Cleared, other agency assist. This was crazy. The guy rolled his Subaru at MP 52 I-90. I mean all the way over taking out all the windows along the way and landing back on all 4’s and drove off just like the movies. He made it 4 miles before being pulled over by county. Driver was taken to SMC then arrested.

• Landline request about parking issues at the Laundromat on Riverside. They have multiple people parking in his lot that are not customers.

• Bike vs. car on Cameron Avenue and Cedar Street. Child rode his bike on to Cameron Ave from Cedar without looking and ran into the side of a passing car. Child was taken to SMC to be checked out. Cleared, report taken and E Impact will also be done. No major injuries.

• Assisted county with an unknown injury crash at Bisaros trailer court. Cleared, other agency assist.

• Assisted county with a panic alarm at the carousel on S. Division in Pinehurst, alarm and responsible were negative contact with the station. Cleared, other agency assist.

• Assisted county with a drunk individual at SMC. Cleared, other agency assist.

• Landline request. Questions about a vehicle purchase and obtaining title, this turned into a civil issue and both parties were contacted. Nothing criminal at this time and the completion of the purchase is waiting on the vehicle title to be mailed to the seller from DMV/ITD.

• Dispatched to SMC for a gunshot wound. Subject was trying to take the slide off is 9mm Taurus and shot himself in the leg. You see he did not remove the clip or clear the chamber before doing this. Pulled the trigger and pew, one pair of Levi’s ruined, a nice bullet hole in the car door and some stitches. Gun placed in safekeeping.

• Felony Arrest x 2 at 100 block W. Riverside, subject with 2 warrants. Taken into custody without incident.

• Civil Stand-by 100 block E. Portland, showed up and was not needed.

• Helped K73 with a LOT of office calls that came in after 1400.

• Office note. Welfare check on Mission Avenue. Subject was code 4 just didn't want to return to work. Cleared, NAT.

• Office note. A person from the condos on McKinley Avenue had some questions about an owner in the building causing problems with other owners. No laws being broken but not being a very nice neighbor. Cleared, NAT.

• Office note. Landline request about a found bike. Checked and it was not reported stolen. Cleared, NAT.

• Office note. Landline request about a trailer that was repossessed by the bank in Osburn. Same landline request K74 had. Called and left a message. No call back.

• Office phone message about vehicle parked on Hill Street. Checked of vehicle they are both legal to be on the street and legally parked. Cleared, NAT.

• Dispatched to the Cameron Conoco about 4 or 5 males trying s to sell fake gold jewelry. Was unable to locate.

• Had the new hire come in and try on some uniform shirts and pants. Will have to order some but was able to outfit him for now.

• Set up a range day for new hire.

• Traffic stop McKinley and Government Gulch for crossing over center line. DUI arrest.

• Pedestrian laying in the roadway on-ramp 51 eastbound. When contacted and asked his name he responded with “Manly Bacon.” So Manly Bacon was taken in on a detox hold and will now always have an AKA of Manly Bacon.

• Did Denver get a new QB? Don’t worry you could always trade for Cousins.

Be happy, be safe, spring is in the air well, between the snow and windstorms.
