Michael Arthur Dingman, 60

Michael Arthur Dingman, 60, of Pinehurst, Idaho, beloved son, brother and friend, passed away on April 14, 2022, at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Michael was born on Aug. 9, 1961, in Silverton, Idaho, a son of Edwin A. Dingman and Idella Wagner Dingman.

Michael grew up in the Silver Valley and graduated from Kellogg High School, class of 1979. During his high school days, he worked at the Shoshone News-Press. After graduation he worked in the zinc plant at the Bunker Hill Mine in Kellogg, Michael then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served three years of active duty and spent nine years in the Army Reserve, reporting to the U.S. Army Reserve Command Center in Hayden, Idaho. Michael was very proud of his service in the Army. After his honorable discharge, he worked in the foundry at LA Aluminum in Hayden, Idaho, for 28 years then went to work at Fox Lumber in Houser, Idaho.

Being an avid outdoor enthusiast, Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing and stargazing. He also enjoyed collecting stamps, comic books and many other unique collectibles.

Michael is preceded in death by his father, Edwin A. Dingman

Survivors include his mother, Idella Dingman of Post Falls, Idaho; a brother, Steven Dingman of Pinehurst, Idaho; two sisters, Anita (Ben) Flachmeyer of Post Falls, Idaho, and Linda Jennings of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at 1 p.m., on Friday, April 22, 2022, at American Lutheran Church in Kellogg, Idaho, with Rev. Alec Rivera officiating. Inurnment with military honors will follow the services at Greenwood Cemetery, Kellogg.
