How times have changed

Forty-eight years ago, on Aug. 8, 1974, Richard Nixon resigned the presidency. He was found to be lying about his involvement in the "watergate conspiracy," which was a burglary of the Democratic Party offices in Washington, D.C. The majority of Congress and the American people agreed with his decision.
In resigning, he said he had never been a quitter but was doing this for the "good of the country."
Fast forward to Aug. 8, 2022. After about six years of Donald Trump's lies, and an insurrection to overturn a valid election, and two years of his "Big Lie," he and many supporters are nevertheless calling for his re-election in 2024! My, how times have changed. I miss the "good old days."
