Gerald "Jerry" Aubrey Gladish Sr, 92
Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Gerald "Jerry" Aubrey Gladish, 92, of Harrison, ID, went home to the Lord on August 22, 2022. He was born on June 12, 1930, in Ontario, OR to Aubrey Perdue and Lillie Mae (McNaught) Gladish.
Jerry grew up in Emmett, ID and Harrison, ID. He moved to Livingston Montana in his early twenties to go to work in a sawmill with his brother-in-law. He served his country in the US army as an MP. He met the love of his life when he hitched a ride from a pretty local girl and her friends. He and Betty Virginia Haymond were married on April 16, 1955. They raised their daughter and four sons in Montana, Washington and North Idaho.
Jerry worked in sawmills and for Kaiser Aluminum. He became a businessman owning several businesses in Coeur d'Alene, ID and the Pinecreek Tavern in Pinehurst, ID. Upon retirement, he and Betty bought their dream home overlooking the lake in Harrison, ID. They kept busy running the local ice cream shop and teaching his grandkids how to be hard workers and how to scoop ice cream. Jerry was always very sociable and had the coffee ready at the ice cream shop first thing every morning. His faith and his family were always the most important thing to him.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Peggy (Raymond) Smith of Coeur d'Alene, ID; his sons, Gerald (Elaine) Gladish of Pinehurst, ID, Craig (Sandy) Gladish of Coeur d 'Alene, ID, Jeff (Loretta) Gladish of Coeur d'Alene, ID and Scott (Cheryl) Gladish of Kellogg, ID. He is also survived by 13 granddaughters and 5 grandsons and many great grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Betty Virginia Gladish; his son, Matthew Timothy Gladish; his granddaughter, Brandie Buell and his grandson, Noah Gladish; his parents, Aubrey and Lillie Gladish; siblings William Gladish, Anita Rogers, and Donna Reynolds.
There will be a graveside service for his family on Monday, August 29th, 2022, 11:00 AM at the Harrison Cemetery. A celebration of life for his family and friends will follow at 1:00 pm at the Pinecreek Tavern in Pinehurst, ID. There will be a potluck luncheon. Please join us and bring your memories to share.
