George 'Bill' William Strathie, 84

George “Bill” William Strathie, 84, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away Aug. 25, 2022, at the Mountain Valley of Cascadia in Kellogg. He was born Nov. 14, 1937, in Wallace, Idaho. Bill was the son of George F. and Margaret (Skinner) Strathie.

Bill attended and graduated from Kellogg High School. He furthered his education at Whitworth College in Spokane, Wash., receiving his bachelor’s degree.

Bill moved to California in 1965, but returned to the Silver Valley in 2006.

In earlier years, Bill served as a mail man for the U.S. Postal Service in Kellogg. When he moved to California, he worked for the University of Pacific School of Dentistry of San Francisco and lastly for the Macy’s Department store, also of San Francisco.

Bill loved and enjoyed cooking and music — popular, western and show tunes.

Bill is survived by his Aunt Florence of Spokane and one cousin. He is also survived by his dear friends and neighbors Melanie and Richard Jansen of Kellogg. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Margaret “Peggy.”

Inurnment will take place at the Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg.
