Connie J. Burkhart, 66

Connie Jane Burkhart, 66, of Hayden, Idaho, passed away Dec. 15, 2022, after battling early-onset Alzheimer’s for more than 10 years. Connie was born on June 16, 1956, in Kellogg, Idaho, to James and Vera Jasper. She grew up in Wallace, Idaho, and graduated from Wallace High School in 1974.

Connie began her career in the banking industry where she met Craig Burkhart and they married on Jan. 21, 1978, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She transitioned to the dental industry, working for Dr. Vince Rossi as a dental assistant for 21 years.

Connie was a lifelong resident of North Idaho and lived in Hayden for 40 years. Connie was an active volunteer in her community at St. Pius Catholic Church in the parish council and choir, Wisdom Works, BirthRight, and internationally through dental missions. Connie enjoyed expressing her creativity by playing guitar, quilting and scrapbooking.

Connie is survived by her husband of 45 years, Craig Burkhart of Hayden; daughter Lisa Thornburgh and her husband, Tim of Woodstock, Ga.; daughter Jacki Burkhart-Hughes and husband Adam of Boring, Ore.; daughter Briana Richardson of North Pole, Idaho; mother-in-law Nancie Burkhart of Pinehurst, Idaho; two sisters, Jo Ann Jasper and Janna Pendley; a half-brother, Dan Jasper; sister-in-law Pam Elliott and husband Gordon; sister-in-law Lori Kemper and husband Don; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial service to be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, and reception to immediately follow at Yates Funeral Home, 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden.
