His parents, Wendell and Elizabeth Schutt; and three children moved to Shoshone County in 1940. His dad, Wendell, was an insurance and real estate agent for many years. His mother, Elizabeth, was a teacher at Pinehurst Elementary School.

Wendell graduated from Kellogg High School in 1955. He then worked at Bunker Hill Mine as an electrician’s helper. After moving to Spokane in 1960, he went to Electrician School. Wendell did electrical work long after retirement, helping friends and churches all over Spokane. Wendell and his family were active members of Central Seventh-day Adventist in Spokane.

Wendell married Joyce Hamms in 1957. They had two children, Mark and Mary Ann. Mark married Trudy and Mary Ann married Clinton. Wendell and Joyce had great love for their two children, plus seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Wendell’s wife, Joyce, passed away in 2017.

Wendell has four siblings, brothers Robin, Elwin and Donald, and one sister, Mary Gail Schutt Powers. He was a special big brother. He also had lots of nieces, nephews and cousins. All of us love him and will miss him.
